You guys are awesome. Thank you. I'm really glad to see people are enjoying this particular flavor of the armor. If I had done all the work I did, trying different mashups and texture tweaks, and setting everything up just for myself, that would have been overkill, but to see others enjoying it really makes the work worth it.
As I continue to consider the future of this armor set, and the possibility of a CBBE SSE female version, I find myself feeling that the overall feel of the armor wouldn't translate, so unless I am somehow inspired otherwise, right now I am thinking this may continue as a male-only set, but maybe I will do a female only counterpart at some point. Frankly, there are so many female armors available in the retro fantasy theme, the likelihood is very low, but I am considering it.
*IF* I figure out how to convert blender models to NIF without using old software versions, then there is a decent chance I might build something completely custom in a similar theme and for both genders, based on a sort of war-kilt concept art I did a long time ago.
Also, at least one person has had an issue where the Tsun's Armor portion of the main armor is very black in low light cells, like taverns. If you experience this, please let me know, as I am trying to track down the reason to see if it is something I can fix.
Again, thank you for your downloads, comments, endorsements, feedback and screenshot contributions.
[UPDATE/PERMISSIONS:] I'm not really modding anymore. I have some health problems and I'm not able to do things I used to enjoy as much. Please feel free to port this work to other platforms like Xbox if you wish. Or if you have a compilation mod that you feel fits, or want to do recolors, you're welcome to use my armor and knife for that. I just ask that you credit and link back to this mod somewhere if possible, so that BillyRo gets credit for the fantastic cubemap and for helping me originally port the knife into the game.
Ooh, this armor looks quite cool. If it is possible, could there be a patch or something to change it from light to heavy? I'd quite like to use it on my argonian, but he is going with heavy armor edit: Instead of the argonian, I am gonna use it for a run where i go dual wield and light armor, the mod looks quite nice
First and Foremost. Thank you for the beautiful armor. I'll add a screenshot in the coming days.
I only have one question/suggestion. Please don't shoot me for saying it either.
The leather on the armor looks pretty pristine and new. But there are a lot of wear marks, or it's dirt, or rust, on the metal parts. I was wondering if we might get a optional file for the armor to be a bit pristine and new as well? If not, that's fine. Just thought it was worth asking.
I found the Apotheus cloak, from Immersive Armor's went rather well with the setup I have. I really need to get a screenshot or two taken and uploaded.
Great armour! I'd suggest if you do a female version, you could go a bit barbarian with it and only add a chest wrap and leave it at that. It looks fantastic as it is.
Loving this mod but I have come across some bugs. This doesn't seem to be compatible with cover khajiit body textures without making the torso vanish entirely. Also, I don't know if this related or not, but when I try dropping the armor, the entire outfit (torso included) starts floating mid air. I really hope you keep working on this mod because this is pure badass.
Yes, the ground object models are just the armor model right now. I'm not really sure how to make new ground objects for it. I'd need to modify the models, and I'm not there yet.
I'm not using Cover Khajiit, so I'm not sure what they change, but I'll look into it.
Love this armor so much! I play as an Orc raised by a Reguard family, hence the 'Curved Swords'. Also for anyone having the problem with the main armor piece being darker in low light, It seems to only occur if your character is set at the maximum weight setting. I'm using the second to last weight setting and it looks as intended in all light.
Thanks, man! I'm glad you're enjoying it and I really appreciate your awesome screenshots!
Someone else with the dark armor issue, discovered it may be related to a custom race mod. Are you using a mod to give your character a custom race? I use the Unique Player Character mod, so I can have my guy look a little different and have the tattoos, and it doesn't have issues at 100 weight, but it's also not a custom race.
The only mods I'm using for my character is Windsong Immersive Character Overhaul and a few other mods that make thing like hair, teeth and eyes look better. I was using your mod on a Khajiit character that I had before I installed the mods and I still had the problem of the main piece too dark in low light, but it only occurs if I'm at maximum weight for me so I don't see it as a problem.
I've also used a mod that changed the Khajiit skeleton so they can be more muscular. With this mod installed the vanilla max weight is now about the third to last weight, but the armor still becomes too dark on the vanilla max weight. If I use the new weights added by the mod the armor appears normal, so from my experience the problem seems to be tied to the vanilla maximum weight setting. I can stay below that weight or go above it and the armor looks as intended in all light.
I really like the looks of this. I've been working on a character very similar to what you describe. My inspirations were Conan, Karl Wagner's Kane, and Letho from the Witcher series. Someone who is obviously very physically powerful but has some unexpected talents as well, such as stealth, magic, ect. I'll give this a go and try to get some screens up.
Awesome, I'm glad you like the idea! I put a lot of work into this, more than I expected, so if someone else enjoys it, that's rad. Looking forward to your screenshots!
