While not a specified number, it's minimal as far as I can tell. I've been using it for ~2-1/2 years. There was no substantial drop in performance when I installed it and it generally runs seamlessly in the background (also provides beacoup more alchemy fish... or at least seems to).
I'm *way* late to the party, but in answer... you *could edit their texture files and make them a bit duller, or darker, or alter their patterning... they're just images after all, so any image editor capable of opening and saving to the dds format they use is fine. Gimp, PS< Paint dot Net etc.
Hey, i made a patch for CACO, but i honestly do not know the policy for uploading patches, do i need to get the original mod author's permission to upload it? I just want to make it available to those who want with as little hassle as possible.
I added: Rebalanced ingredient price and effects according to CACO, or at least i tried as i could not figure out the exact method to rebalance them and just settled for making sure they are in the expected range for similar ingredients. Merged FormID list so small fish from both mods can appear Made the process of catching fish similar to CACO's Salmon, you catch a whole fish and can either eat half of it and get a fillet, or process it in a cooking station to get 2 fillets and a fish eye. Modified all fish steak recipes to get CACO's food effects (not stackable, you get a couple hours of stamina regen + another 1/2 hrs effect depending on fish)
Probably a couple other things, it took a few hours to make.
I believe that is at least a courtesy to notify both mod creators of your patch, even to them to post a link to your patch. I believe that as a patch you don't need permission, but not sure, it is better to have. I am interested in the patch.
Looks great! Opened it in xEdit and it appears you did a very thorough job of this. I've been wanting to use this mod but avoiding it without a CACO patch to keep my game consistent. Thank you!
You don't need permission to make or post patches. It is useful to contact the mod authors, as they like to be able to link to your patch on their mod page. In fact most mod makers encourage people to make compatibility patches with other mods so that more people can enjoy their work.
I use both improved fish and your fish cacofied patch, but for some reason i don't get a whole fish, i only get 1 fillet of the assorted fish. Do i place improved fish after caco and then your patch to work correctly or before caco and then your patch?
Thanks, I had just made a quickie patch that only carried over the most basic things, you've gone the extra mile and edited the new fish to be more in line with CACO too which is great. Maybe release the mod separately, since it seems this mod might not ever get updated again perhaps.
I don't think the fish floating is a bug associated with this mod necessarily. I had the mod "more colorful critters" installed and in areas where there were a lot of little fish in the water, some were "swimming" right above the surface. Similar to how there is a game limitation to how many actors can be in a cell before things start getting weird, I think there may be something similar for creatures.
The Creation Club fishing mod was added to everyone with Special Edition for free. I'm actually enjoying this content. New fish to catch, quests to catch certain fish, and some other quests. Different rods increase your odds of catching certain-sized fish. What you catch can be affected by the time of day and current weather. Even adds an expansion to Hearthfire homes so you can have aquariums to show off your prized catches. My only complaint is that you can only fish in specific locations with a basket of fish and a box of worms. Aside from that, it's actually an enjoyable mod that fits well with someone who likes survival playthroughs. I'm still adjusting to using their Survival Creation Club content since Frostfall and Campfire are currently broken for this version of Skyrim. Frostfall and Campfire are far better than what Creation Club offered.
I would love to see this but rather in a different method. Fishing allows the player to have aquariums and display both large fish like salmon and many other varieties. These fish would great additions to it rather than getting the individual raw fish sections but the entire fish instead.

currently cooked they restore like 5 heath.
No hunger.
Need a mod to fix all these things.
going to have to delete this mod since the food is useless in survival.
The graphics are extremely simple and their spawn range is short.

Do you know if this happens to correct the issue with jumping salmon no longer providing salmon roe?
Thanks for making the waters a bit livelier!
