Someone help me use this. I installed Datura font, now i'm reading journals in nchuand-zel, the place when need to kill nimhe spider. the journals is still handwritten vanilla. i saw comments below
"FYI didnt fully work for me until i edited map "$HandwrittenFont" = "INSERT FONT NAME" Normal and map "$HandwrittenBold" = "INSERT FONT NAME Normal
But i have no clue where i can edit this. I tried to search in game folder but i could not find them. Using MO2.
Books worked out - but journals and notes till standard.
Right click the mod in MO2 and select "Open in Explorer." You should see an "interface" folder and a "meta.ini" file. Open the "inteface" folder. Select the "fontconfig.txt" file. You'll find the lines you're looking for in that file.
I think he's referring to the way that this mod does not change the font used in notes. It works correctly in books, but notes still use the vanilla Skyrim font.
Just like him, I also wanted this to change the way notes look, luckily I was able to follow his instructions and get the notes to use a custom font.
Just throwing my 3 and a half cents in; I had to do the same. I cannot for the life of me read the "SkyrimBooks_Handwritten_Bold" that is used in notes. But hey, now I can! Cheers beast1811!
I can't get this work with any other mods that alter the fonts, like I love the enderal font (Dumbledor 3 thin) and I use that in my game to replace all the ui fonts with that and it does the books but the book Dragon Language; Myth no More one of the pages is bugged out so text from another page is spliced on top and it's a mess so wanted to replace the book font with michaelmas. I've tried editing both configs but no matter what order I load them, upon loading the game I get blank squares where continue, new, load and exit would be (I have a clean menu no CC crap). Is it possible to use 2 font mods together? Somehow?...
I don't know if all of the fonts have this issue, but the one I used (Datura), the mod's "Interface" folder doesn't have a capital 'I' in it's name. I'm using Vortex for mod managing, and was able to fix this by right-clicking the mod and selecting the "Open in File Manager" option. From there I renamed the folder called "interface" to "Interface" -- make sure the 'i' is capital.
Thank you! Sometimes i couldn't even understand the words. I guess i will go with Planewalker because it has a good balance between being mediaval and readable
Hello, if i'm using Enderal Font for Skyrim SE in my playthrough at the moment, and Vortex says both file conflicts. How to solve the conflict? Or do i just choose either and edit the fontconfig myself?
EDIT : Looks like editing your fontconfig is all you have to do, it doesn't matter which wins the conflict. Thanks for the awesome fonts!
