Someone had the error code 5 thing in the "forum" section of this mod I'll paste it below for your convenience:
"English user here but same error popup. But I still can use it normally after clicking OK. But kinda annoying as I need to click OK every time I restarted the game.But there's a workaround where you open SKY UI in MCM > Advanced > SWF Version Checking and uncheck "Favorites". After that, no more error code 5 :D"
The other issue you have I may have found too, but i'm not sure if it will fix it. The creator himself said this in 2018 about it:
Adding your own spells/items/abilities: *This works best if you're in borderless windowed mode 1. Go to your skyrim data folder 2. In the data folder go to the interface folder 3. Scroll down till you see favoritesmenu.cfg 4. Open favoritesmenu.cfg in notepad or whatever you use 5. Just add the name of your spell to any of the categories or sublist
Going through the favoritesmenu.cfg a bit befuddling to me. It's so crudely made... Things like "earring," and "drain" (from vampiric drain) were misspelled ("earing" and "drian" respectively), it doesn't include "hood" in headgear (but includes "visor??")... These were just a few blatantly obvious ones I found in a quick <15-minute scan of the file. If you use this mod, I would highly suggest going through it - adding sacrosanct abilities and spells as well as ordinator is highly advisable unless you want all your favorites to show up under uncategorized.
Yeah I would highly recommend add new abilities, items from others Mods you installed in ''favoritesmenu.cfg'' (incase it don't include) like: Campfire mod, Better Unique Backpacks, Bandolier Bags and Pouches Classic SE, ..... . also you can customized your Favourite too. Just use the menu.
I've spent the entire morning wrestling with the 3rd bullet and two similar ones. No matter how I tweak the respective sections under RESTORATION and CONSUMABLES those potions always land in the spell section (even if I explicitly exclude "potion of minor healing"). However, the Potions of Minor Magicka & Stamina sort to CONSUMABLES just fine. I suspect that it relates to how the mod prioritizes sorting to the Magic categories and there are no spells named "magicka" or "stamina". A similar issue is with Mass Paralysis where the spell name trumps any rules that I try to apply to get the scroll placed in CONSUMABLES rather than ILLUSION. (I removed "mass paralysis" from the ALTERATION keywords and it now sorts to consumables.) The final one is "Frostbite Venom" will land in DESTRUCTION rather than CONSUMABLES once you declare "frostbite" as a DESTRUCTION spell (which was not in the original set of keywords). If anyone can enlighten us on how to exclude list items that include spell names in their own name, that would be huge!
How to make your healing potions appear in the Consumables instead of Restoration: 1. open favoritesmenu.cfg - you will notice that the Restoration section lies above the Consumables section in the cfg file, so Restoration's "healing" keyword takes priority over Consumables' "healing" keyword <- this is why your healing potions appear in Restoration instead of Consumables.
2. Move the entire Consumables section i.e. everything starting from ###### Consumables ######all the way till ################################ # Spacers for Consumables # ################################ [list] name = spacer1 type = spacer enabled = true and paste them above the "# Magic list and sublists #" section.
Equip sets seem to be kind of broken. Not only do they not show up in the favorite's menu as a category, but when it comes to armor and unequipping items it just doesn't really work. for example, i had a full armor set in one and it only equipped my helmet, i had one set for no items "unequip all" set, and nothing happened while wearing armor.
It's a shame because i think this is the only SE mod that tries to add favorite groups in with a categorized favorite menu
Equipsets still work but they don't show up anymore because he removed them from the config files. You need to modify the favoritesmenu.cfg to add them back in. I'd suggest removing the Food/Drink category and putting Equip Sets back in. I know 95% of the time I go into the favorites menu it is to switch Equip Sets. I don't think I've ever needed Food/Drink in there. So make the Layout section look like this (reorder them if you want, I like Equip Sets first thing in the list):
Then beneath add in Equip Set list lines just below the Lists header:
########### ## Lists ## ###########
######################################################################## # The list that has all the equipsets. See favoritesmenu_equipsets.cfg ######################################################################## [list] name = Equip Sets type = equipset enabled = true
Finally you might want to go down and either remove the Food/Drink lists and sublists further below. Or you could move the sublists into the Consumables menu, copy the sublists up to that section and change the parent_list to be Consumables.
Very cool tutorial for noobs, this noob thank you!
I got an odd problem though - it works fine, but it doesn't save. The moment I leave the favorites menu, the equip set changes are gone - I tried with the cfg file and with it removed, same thing, it doesn't generate a new one. Hmm.
Thanks GregR for the tip, i followed your instructions, but i have the same problem as Esteris: When i create a new equipset, it shows up correctly in the menu, and i also can delete other sets, but it doesn´t save! When i leave the menu and open it again, i am back to the default list of equipsets.
Huge thanks to SpaceCop42 from me as well since I now have 5 mostly working equipsets. I can't fault the mod for struggling with left hand rings as those are another mod addition. However, I can't figure out how to set up an "ability" or a "spell" in the equipsets. I've tried those as keywords in the key:value parameters list, but they're simply ignored. Has anyone else figured these out?
How would you expand the categories from 10 to 12? I would like to add a separate category for teleport spells as I don't want them to overwhelm my alteration favorites list. Also would it be possible to code a menu that separates the favorite menus like this but would also be quickly togglable? Like the old-school favorites menu option that is kind of out of the way but you could use your controller to scroll right to see each individual submenu at a time and have a separate option to see the whole favorites menu at once?
I got SKYUI ERROR CODE 5 .... Help me out please EDIT: OK i found some fixes. Just look the comments below. Bump for 2024 users. Great Mod. A Must Have in your Mod-load
I added it after starting with my new list, i realized this mod really is a must. Thanks for updating it by the way!
I swear i didn't install it at first because it wasn't compatible with another mod i used (no other favorite menu mod or sorting than the usualk skyUI stuff) but going through my list i wasn't able to find what it was... Maybe those long days of modding confused me.
If someone has an idea, feel free to answer this for future reference =)
Just spits out an SKSE error on launch with the newest skyrim version
Edit: Disregard. It seems one of my new UI mods somehow corrupted the dmenu.dll. I assumed it was this mod causing the issue because it was the last mod when I narrowed it down.
Hi Shadic, I am big fan of your mod and always include it in every UI setup I create, I am just checking if its still ok to use your mod in UI bundles I upload to Bethesda.net (Xbox) ?
You have allowed others to include it and the asset use is open but I thought it best to check you are happy for me to include it ?
The new bethesda porting rules require public permission and with the "unofficial mod police" frequently checking every mod that gets uploaded to bethesda.net its best to safe then sorry.
Finally found it. Each list has a setting called "num_entries". It tells you the maximmum number of entries for that list. If the list doesn't have that setting, it's unlimited and you can add it to cap the number. Then you just have to choose the right list for the "row1_height_list" and "row2_height_list" settings.

1. I keep getting "SKYUI ERROR CODE 5 Incompatible menu file (favoritesmenu.swf)"
2. It's incorrectly sorting these items and I cannot fix it, no matter how I edit the file.
I was able to fix some other issues on my own, but I can't figure these ones out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks in advance for any tips!
Example
[equipset]
name = Combat
equipment = Sword, left
equipment = Amulet of Cool
equipment = Armor of Iron
etc, add a new line for each item and type the name. Then the set will appear in the menu. You can do this with the game open
Its a bit of a pita, but at least it works after I'm done, and you still don't need to close the game to tweak the file.
