Recommended: TERA Armors mod. While often revealing, the rest is lavish enough as if it's straight from the 2nd or late 3rd Era. Especially the robes. Spend hours dressing every townsfolk with the robes as i hone my smithing skills.
Known issue since the oldrim ver: Enabling this mod whether through given magic power shout or via MCM, the topic to persuade changing clothes didn't appear until you save and load.
If you outfit NPC with clothing first before boots and gloves, then upon outfitting boots and gloves, the clothing will be completely disappear. Workaround: equip boots and gloves first before clothing/armor/cuirass.
AFT companions may revert to default clothing randomly. Workaround: Just use AFT's outfit system. Keep other viewers away especially custom body mod user as toggling AFT outfit system will remove all armors for awhile, potentially making some modded body completely naked.
I've noticed that issue on occasion but it doesn't happen to me often - It's been rare in my experience.
I recommend not using AFT but rather NFF, EFF, or Live Follower Package instead. (I)AFT is quite buggy compared to the others nowadays. Also, perhaps look into some of the mods in the sticky.
Thanks for the suggestion. As i got a peculiar issue within my current game i try to clean up, verify again, and update. As i have to remove and reinstall all the mods, i look after your suggestion.
I've lost track of how many times I've done that now myself lol Good luck I highly recommend using MO2, SSE Edit, Nifopt, Asset Optimizer, etc. - there are many invaluable tools that will save you tons of time if you do some research
For six years i only use NMM (won't move to Vortex because of its dramatic change of UI and "live service" style interface) and only as recent as a year ago i use xEdit which was powerful. LOOT isn't much helpful because i think if i auto-did-it it might screw things that didn't expected. "Cleaning" masterfiles is something i also avoid given that files originally "as is" from Bethesda and the so-called "dirty edits" are necessary, even for some mods, to make it work. Yes, "it just works". And some who "cleaned" their "masters" experienced problems not seen before.
Speaking of follower mods, i think Nether's Follower Framework will be my next choice. To note: EFF - i have very bad experience with that in Fallout 4, suddenly the AI just stop working after around 30 hours of play. Live Follower Package didn't have SSE version yet.
On occasion, you may have to adjust the inventory - i.e. add/remove something to get it to reappear on the model. In my experience, this is very rare, and disable/enable will work as well if you're lazy like I am and don't want to go into the dialogue trees. Or you might have a conflict or are using it on non unique NPC
I had that mod before as well and ported it over myself (privatly, unpublished ofc).^^ But a downsight is that guards don't keep that equip. They will eventually take it off. At least that's what I got many times in SSE and SLE. But thanks for porting it over.^^
Yes, this is true. For that reason, I never personally use it on guards / other generic, non-unique NPCs (bandits, forsworn, etc). Changes to their outfits won't persist for those types of characters. That being said, any (unique) NPC that sticks around consistently won't have that issue. So, for example, NPCs/guards for modded homes will have their outfits persist. If you'd like to adjust the outfits of hold guards or other generic characters there are replacer mods for that and they will persist throughout playthroughs In my personal playthroughs, this mod is most useful for all the unique NPC characters that you see on a regular basis. All the named characters, basically.
At any rate, you are most welcome. It's an essential mod IMHO and the game is not the same without it so I figured what the hell, I might as well share
Yeah. I really like it as well. I gave you an endorsement btw. I tried to make a replacer for guards but other mods seemed to alter a leveled list as well. So I wasn't able to change the equipment of the guards myself. I just tested it with daedric equip. But the helmet got replaced still. Even though the list said daedric only.
Thank you So you were making a default outfit replacer and your changes were being overridden by other mods? Did you find which ones were the culprits?
I haven't tried this mod out yet myself but it seems like it might be what you're looking for. Maybe give it a shot https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/15211
I recommend always backing up your saves & load orders before trying any new mods (especially mid-save); but yes, multiple users have reported that they do in fact work well together, and I now use them both myself as well - it's amazing. Just load ONPCS after SNPCOM it makes a great complementary mod.
Edit: Kuroko's Dress Up Lover's NPC Outfit Changer is also highly recommended! It's essentially a more robust version of the Simple NPC Outfit Manager - and it resolves those issues with giving NPCs enchanted/improved gear https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/28736
it was wonderful, and it was working good until recently; each time I get through the dialogue, a pop up for an error appears. "ERROR: an NPC is being managed.". Kindly advise me on this. . .thank you.
Downloaded initially so I could fix NPCs not wearing clothes after uninstalling some other armor mods, but the idea of forcing imperial scum to wear stormcloak armor is all too enticing
not compatible with Ostim? It was an camera mod, Ostim npc's are sometimes invisible when not having a actorflag set to false in the camera ini, anyways thanks for this mod its great!
yeah it was actually idk if it was improved camera or display tweaks but basically it needed a ini change were actors would not render if the camera was in a specific way, I dont remember what it was but yeah
Will this break Custom AI followers like importing them to a multi-follower framework, or using a home allocation mod on them does? Seems like it might, and that is the only reason I am interested. Vanilla NPC's be damned, they deserve to be unfashionable plebs, but my waifu harem, they deserve all the slooty armours and clothing I have to be theirs!
Most comply.
Usually those who do not, just need better than their defaul gear.
Sometimes, I want them in weaker gear though, because it is sexier, or the same thing they wear default, but just a different colour... with more transparency....and I really hope this is my ticket, but wont use it, unless 100% guaranteed NOT to screw with their brains.
I'm having a similar issue with npc's being naked once i come back, the outfit i gave them is still in the inventory but not equiped. I think goto bed might be the issue because it seems to happen when they goto sleep and change into sleep wear

Simple elegant no fuss no lists no management ... perfect tool for the job.
Thanks.
