- I changed some scripts so hopefully it now works as intended, and the workbench gets removed when the quest is done - I moved the workbench next to the entrance for compatibility reasons (for this reason, if the workbench is already in your save file, it might not move to the new location)
Please check to see if everything works as it should and let me know.
- The quest should start when after you have killed Arcano and leave the building. - After completing the quest, the workbench will be removed (just exit the building) - The replica, when activated, will now also give an 8 hour magicka regen blessing
Just a friendly reminder: the workbench in the Hall of Elements, LOOKS like an enchantment table and not like the normal workbench. It makes more sense to me that mages will use something "magical" to craft the orb.
This mod is a super cool idea, I love it ! It's a shame that I seem to have some compatibility issues, I would love to have that in my game.
Have you considered changing the "ray of light" under the replica to match that of the true Eye ? It looks a bit weird, to see the ray of light just go through the replica like this. For now, my headcanon shall be that the "ray of light" can freely pass through an object of pure magical nature such as the Eye. And it's just a replica, so its properties may be a bit different...
Finding the book and the workbench is way harder than all skyrims puzzle (i found the book but not the workbench, trying to use the console command to put the workbench placeatme but it didnt show anything, couldnt get the id) so i just used "mod item collector" and take the damn orb, it works. But the quest has not end yet, but ion care atleast the ball exist now. Thx
I'm not sure if I'm having mod conflicts or the quest is just bugged, but I can't find the workbench/arcane enchanter in the Hall of the Elements. Anywhere.
I've searched and circled the entire cell several times and it's just nowhere to be seen, and I'm thinking it just didn't spawn. Yes, I have the book already, and no, I don't have any particular mod(s) that overhauls the College of Winterhold, though I do have a few of 4thUnknown's creature mods that place spell tomes/items around, but I don't think there was anything placed in the Hall of the Elements that I can find that would potentially conflict.
Is the workbench supposed to be in an obvious spot, like right in front of/next to the main magic well in the center of the room? Because if so, I'm not seeing it. Edit: I just consoled in the workbench and used setstage to complete the quest, which is good enough for me. Probably an issue purely due to my mod list anyway.
Oh, I just got the workbench's FormID using SSEEdit, which is 5b00182d, then typed "player.placeatme 5b00182d 1". This spawned in the workbench where I was standing and I was able to use it to make the replica.
I will look into the disappearing workbench when I'm back from the conference I'm at, but it is not supposed to just disappear like that. When I tested it, it worked so not sure if it is something on my end, but it might be that I did something wrong, so I will look into it.
In terms of the workaround offered by Timwath, just remember that the first two numbers of the FormID will most likely differ from his, as it is something that is determined by your own load order. In his case, the '5b' he used, is where this mod is loaded in his load order.
If that isn't the ID you can console command help "mage's workbench" and get the id from there. Then you should probably console TCL and go to a place you can't see it because it won't ever be oriented the way you want. And I don't think it'll disappear.
I found the book, found the workbench, got all the materials I need, but now I'm back at the college and can't find the workbench anymore. I'm not sure what happened. Help please?
I'm currently away at a conference, so I can't look into the quest at the moment. The workbench is not supposed to disappear until you have finished the quest, so I'm not sure how this happened and if there might be mods conflicting with this one (which is actually very very unlikely). I'll look into it when I'm back from my trip, but if you can't wait, try using the workaround offered by Timwath under this post. (Just note that the first two numbers will most likely differ from yours as it is determined by your own load order.)
