    Sticky
    Some notes:
    1. This doesnt make Heels 2025 obsolete. There are additional sounds in there from Heels 1.5 and overall there still needs to be a system that contains the sound record.
    2. With the above being said, it does work with Heels 2025.
    3. Followers support and more verbose application is coming next patch.

Did some rework for some better support.

      • Added a config file for more fine-tuning
      • Applies to all records as a whole at startup instead of waiting until something is equipped. It came down to a cost vs benefit between watching for actors to spawn in, change armor, and update vs just changing at startup. Larger modlists will see a slight slowdown at title screen launch (nothing crazy hopefully, maybe a couple seconds).
      • Added VR support. I don't have VR so someone will have to test and let me know if it works.

Dude, I was wracking my brain to think of what this mod does. What does it mean "auto heal sounds"? What is "Heals 2025"? Then I noticed it's "heels" *facepalm Goodbye.

That's pretty good, removes the annoying esm/esp requirement most hate but it only depends on the modder if this change is to be applied, would they prefer adding lines to a text file rather than using it on the go while making the esp.

I could see that as an auxiliary method but without the changes I look for, it won't change the character height either. It kind of becomes m00t? I dunno, maybe it's time for a Heels System 2.0 :)

(Speculation) Heels System 2.0 should be an improved version that wouldn't remove the height effect after wearing any other clothing items when the heels have already been equipped, the heels system i currently use has this bug but that's the only heels system i've got working properly. Heels System 2.0 should still use the same method to apply the effect though.

Does this MOD replace the sound of all shoes other than bare feet with the sound of high heels?

Not exactly. It scans for the NIF file to see if the armor piece is acceptable to be marked as a high heel and automatically applies the sound. In a really shortened version, you'd have to normally add a patch to make it play the sound but my mod does it automatically.

Thank you for your work. It appears incompatible with mods that replace the heels in vanilla outfits, such as Skyrim HighHeels EditionSkyrim HighHeels Edition at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community

Sadly not working on my modlist. It doesn't apply heels sounds to many mods i have.

    I have: - Heels Sound - 2025 Edition
               - Heels - Sound Record Distributor (SRD) - Patch Hub
               - Heels Sound Volume

Im not sure if 2025 edition has the same form ID but I'll check later to see. Is there a log message in "skse-auto-heels.log"?

Interesting, are you able to see what the HH_OFFSET is for the heels your character is using? Maybe my checks aren't robust enough.

Sure. There's a couple ways you can determine it besides seeing your character height change when you're putting on heels.
Option 1. Download NifSkope and navigate to the NIF file for the heels (typically found in the bodyslide output or meshes folder). Look through any BsTriShape on the left side tree and one of them should have something like "NiFloatExtraData".
Option 2. In outfit studio, open the project and double click on any of the heels shapes. One of them should have HH_OFFSET.

I have the same stuff going on:

      [19:19:17.335] [6748 ] [I] skse-auto-heels v0-0-1-0
      [19:19:17.335] [6748 ] [I] Registered update player hook
      [19:19:17.335] [6748 ] [I] Installed heel update manager
      [19:20:05.381] [6748 ] [I] Received load game event
      [19:20:05.381] [6748 ] [I] Heels sound loaded
      [19:20:05.386] [6748 ] [I] No heels found
      [19:27:00.037] [6748 ] [I] No heels found

No heel sound is playing as well.

While actually heels are present (with HH_OFFSET).

I appreciate it, I think I know the cause. Theres a difference sometimes when mod authors choose different slot masks between the armor and armor addon. I only take the addon slot into account so I'll be changing that!

What about custom (and beast) races that use HH_OFFSET for digitigrade feet models? No way to filter this?

Nope but that's a good point. I'll make an update that also verifies if something is equipped in the slot.

I reworked what is actually calculated with the HH_OFFSET so this shouldn't be a problem anymore (hopefully). If it's still detecting it, you could try adding the form ID of the custom race's body ARMA record to the ignore list.

Could you add the option to have exceptions for some footwear or whole esps, I'm working on a custom set of outfit that has custom footstep sounds and would like to blacklist it from your mod.

A few words about the functionality. I would assume it force applies the spell effect of HH if it does detect the usage of HH_Offset on an actor? All or player only?
These two are worthy adding into FAQ

Theres no application of spells of effects. Its player only (i could change that though). The technical aspect is that when a player is updated, i check the currently rendered 3d mesh for HH_OFFSET (and the newer way, I cant remember the field name) and then change the armor addon for whatever piece is in the feet slot to the sound in HeelSound.esm
