Just an FYI, the formID is out of date (form43 instead of form44 for SSE). It can be easily fixed by opening the .esp in the SSE CK and then just re-saving it, and re-uploading the archive.
Why is a second smaller guard for in front of the main guard? It looks so cool and lovely, but also so... non-realistic. Why don't you guys making a research to Google to see how actual real swords looks like?
It's a sword based on a design in a comic, and the sword in question is pretty much a zweihander with a bit of Eastern flair and ornamentation. Instead of parrying hooks and a leather wrap, it's got a second guard and grip. It's not a realistic design, and it's not intended to be.
Also funny you mention research, because I have Oakeshott's 'records of the medieval sword' lying on my desk. But as I said, realism was not the intent.
I might in the future do some variations that are more traditionally realistic in design (there seems to be a demand for that) but I wouldn't expect to see those anytime soon.
It's perfectly realistic, even the Steel and Nordic greatsword in the game have a ricasso and additional crossguard, inspired by Germanic and Nordic Zweihanders, probably one of the coolest designs for swords I reckon
Many zweihanders had double guards as some foot soldiers would put a hand in between. It was to protect the lead hand. Maybe you should do more research.
Love the sword, there's not a lot of zweihander themed swords on nexus, so It's great to have this beauty. I will admit I had to change the colours though, gold and bright blue was a bit too flashy for me. I wish the SSE version had a scabbard, but then again you said it wasn't you who ported it, so eh. Cheers for the beast sword!
Hi! Great mod but I was wondering if you'd be willing to do a version without the linen looking cloth bandages on the beginning of the white part of the blade.
Thanks for making the mod friend, this is some extremely high quality stuff.
Awesome! I would love to see a one-handed version as well, if you can do that. (One-handed version would also look better if you removed the upper handle and guard)
