About this mod
An expanded take on Ultimate Markarth, filling the gaps and breathing more life into the city.
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
- Changelogs
- Whiterun and Windhelm have the Capital Expansions.
- Solitude was improved by Enhanced Solitude, but that looks to be unseated by Drengin’s upcoming offering.
- Riften expanded outside its walls with the Southwoods and Northshore Districts, along with an overhauled docks area.
- The Great Cities and Cities of the North rounded out the smaller capitals.
Ultimate Markarth built on many amazing ideas—and the incredible work of many modders before it—giving Markarth a much-needed boost. But it still left the city feeling unfinished.
Ultimate Markarth Expanded picks up where Ultimate Markarth left off, filling in the gaps with immersive, lore-friendly additions to finally make Markarth feel complete.
What’s New
- Markarth Baths: A public bathhouse separate from the Temple of Dibella—made for workers, not worship.
- The Honey and Juniper Meadery: because importing a pint all the way from Whiterun or Riften gets pricey.
- Hearthstone Academy: a school for the children of miners, merchants, and guards, and a home for the orphans of the Reach and High Rock.
- The Old Imperial College of the Voice: a forgotten echo of a time when the Empire openly studied the Thu’um. Still echoing despite the Thalmor's best efforts.
- Malacath's Forge: A proper blacksmith’s shop, a home, and a husband for Ghorza Gra-Bagol.
- Stoneveil Hall: A free (For a limited time!) 2-level extravagant player home, with beds for multiple followers, six children and, of course, you and your spouse.
- Crag-Side Reservoir: A mountainside aqueduct and reservoir system, left over by the Dwemer and refurbished by the citizens of the Reach.
- Stonecutter Quarry: Because all the stone used to build Markarth has to come from somewhere.
- Stonebrook Watch: The old keep atop the mountain, now used as a training grounds and arena by the guards.
What's Improved
- The Silver Scone Bakery now has upgraded displays, lighting and seating.
- Markarth Grocer and Bazaar offers an interior space for vendors to sell their wares, away from the awful smells of whatever Hogni Red-Arm is cooking.
- A rebuilt and consolidated Central Lift to the upper levels of the city.
What's Next
- More details and more clutter in the interior spaces.
- More life in the city.
- Daily schedules for all citizens.
- Employees for the Pumphouse, the Refinery and the Quarry.
- Populate the arena, including betting and participation trophies.
- Re-open Deep-Cut Hollow to compete with Cidhna Mine. Why should the Silver-Bloods hoard all the wealth?
- Open the Bee Sting Apothecary, if the permits ever come through.
- Quests and unique dialogue.
