Special thanks to ousnius for fixing up the meshes for SSE.
Uninstalling this mod could result in "corrupted" saves if using v2.11 or earlier. See here for more information. v2.12 and onward have the issue resolved.
I'm hopeful that turning off 'go celebrate!' in the MCM will help with this mod hijacking npcs that (in my loadout) either a) have no ai script to speak of outside of the holiday or b) are actually custom planter boxes. The former is a mild nuisance, the latter seems to result (thanks to the rest of my mod loadout) in the infamous 'you can't plant that here' loop.
(My loadout in particular tries to clothe the unclothed, and since the planter boxes are technically just weird naked dudes ... yeah.)
Disabling the faulty planter man helps in theory (it bandage patches the situation) but if you can't find the faulty planter man for whatever reason (like, say, a dialogue box popping up every millisecond, or he's following some npc around because he thinks he's funny now, or both), it's an unresolvable problem.
The celebrations are theoretically awesome and I love the decorations, but this aspect makes my game literally unplayable sometimes.
All that said, fun mod, love the decor and the lore it includes, so I can't bring myself to remove it entirely.
Some of us can't afford to keep paying Bethesda for mods that are a bit lacking in quality. So... we support modders how and when we can such as subscribing to them on Patreon.
As many others have said, I would like to see some enterprising mod author or team recreate this legendary mod.
For one, a new ESLed spiritual successor of this mod could be made and would give access to many more users. I opened up the BSA (usually necessary to ESL a mod), but there are no script sources provided, so I could not see if it uses GetFormFromFile. ESPFE Follower - Eslify facegen and voices v.1.6.5 tells me it has a cell, which sometimes means it is not a good idea to ESL a mod. And when I ran the cell-free version of that script, this mod has too many records ("Found more than 4096 new records in Holidays.esp"). So I don't think this mod, as is, can be ESLed.
A new spiritual successor to this great mod could also be tailor-made to synergize well with the Creation Club (CC) - Saturalia Holiday Pack and jayserpa's much loved The Gift of Saturalia - A Quest for the Holidays. These two mods are now probably the "Holiday Combo" base for the large load order crowd, as one is an actual ESL and the other is ESLed. If there are other mods that fit, please list them here! Thanks!
someone should try to remake this mod now that we have better framework mods like BOS, seasons of skyrim etc to make it more compatible... but with better meshes/textures as well
What about those mods is Holidays not compatible with? Regarding BOS, there would need to be objects that these are swapping out, but Holiday's isn't swapping anything; it's adding new references. So BOS isn't really applicable as far as I am aware. For Seasons of Skyrim, sounds like you're just desiring snowy versions of the assets? Or is there more?
Unfortunately, not. You'll have to find the source of each firework launching point (which is invisible), open up the console, click the ground where the fireworks are shooting from, and disable them.
Hello! Wierdly enough, I'm having the same issue. i searched the comment section before posting, and found this thread. Is this a common issue? Has anyone found a way how to solve it (apart from the way Mr. isoku described above, of course)? My fireworks come from somewhere around the Riften port, from the water. I use Open Cities Skyrim, too.
I love the idea of this mod, but unfortunately, it seems to make the courier stop working properly.
Instead of giving you letters, he just follows you around like a mute side-kick.
To be fair, I don't know if this mod is really responsible. I just know someone on Reddit said courier was doing this, and two other people who responded said that they had this issue with this mod installed, which I also happen to have.
