Better reward: In Fort Dawnguard, Isran should direct them to Florentius or Sorine Isran would let their ashes become compost, and getting it free or nothing But he heard that the ash could be used to fight them better. Maybe could be a perk with: +1 damage to vampires (+1 extra crit too, g), and a -1 damage (physical and magical) from vampires, given enough dust given to until +6 or +10, or so. Sorine for the +dmg, Florentius for the -dmg and with some sort of progression so it doesn't get that unbalanced and has to be grindy: 20 dust units, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and so on
Also, could be sold to the dawnguard npcs: patrols or others: In the fort dawnguard, can be sold for full price to Florentius or Sorine only; in the road or cities or other DG. NPCs, half price (hey, vampire slaying is a costly operation: garlic has to be properly cultivated, and not all wood slays vampires equally )
UPDATE 10/4/2022: I have not abandoned any of my mods, I just have a lot of projects spread across Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. I plan to add an MCM menu to configure the gold reward for this mod and that will be coming soon.
There is a mod called "Rational Bounties and Rewards", maybe you can ask the creator. Alternatively if you know how to use the Creation Kit; open it with the mod active and search for "Global Value(s)". There are many values that set things like i.e. the price of Heartfire homes, it may be there among those. If you know how to use TESS5EDIT\xEDIT than you can open the mod with, it and try to change the value.
oh my goodness ive always wanted this in skyrim. every time i replayed oblivion and eventually made my way back to skyrim i was like ITS MISSING. thank you!! im just now getting into SE after modding oldrim for ages and im finding so many gems. c':
I ended up modifying it by reducing the gold amount to 50 (250 is a little much, considering how much Dust you can accumulate at some dungeons), but I'm so glad someone finally made this, I've wanted something like this for a while and couldn't seem to make it myself.
This mod doesn't specifically state that you will receive 250 gold. Instead, it says you will receive what is set for Gold001 "Gold" [MISC:0000000F]. This number is used for Small Level Quest Rewards such as helping Carlotta with Mikael or taking Adrianne's sword to her father. The exact number depends on your level. From level 1 to 9 you will receive 250 gold. From level 10 to 19 you will receive 400 gold, etc. So if you don't start Dawnguard until level 30 you'll receive 600 gold per ash up to 750 gold per ash at level 40+.
You can use another mod such as https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9985 to cut the reward. The default version is to cut the reward in half but that would still be 300 gold per ash at level 30. There's an optional version which will cut the reward by 70% which means 220 gold per ash at level 30. I used SSE Edit to reduce the rewards even more so that at level 30 I would receive 100 gold per ash.
brother would u please teach me how to do it in SSEedit..I see this line Gold001 "Gold" [MISC:0000000F] which is a variable amount of gold that might reach 600+ gold...but I want to make it just like u only 50 gold o matter what my lvl is...would u tell me ;)
That's... not true. That's not how it works. Gold001 doesn't scale with player level. You have it backwards. Leveled lists use Gold001 and scale with level, Gold001 is just a single gold coin and doesn't scale. But I'll be adding an MCM to choose the gold reward anyway.
Aside from the fact that you can sell to all DG chars, this mod is awesome and IMO pretty balanced. Though it would be awesome to only be able to sell to one of the DG's. Having a limit to how much you can sell would make it so immersive as well (for ex: Isran will reward you 50g for each pile of dust you bring him but won't reward you more than 2500g each week since the DG doesn't have an infinite amount of septims.).
I agree with this. It'd be awesome to have one where you only sell to Isran, and only a certain amount per week before he tells you to bring them back in X amount of days.
This is a very simple mod, I think I'm going to try to do something like that. I'd also like to expand some generic voiced merchant dialogue since I'm certain it's possible but I don't really have time
think you can adds a patch for the mod that lets you take fangs from vampires? also maybe do a werewolf hunter type mod to seek werewolf skins for the silverhand mod

Would be cool to have an "immersive version".
