Would it be possible to get/make a version where the restriction isn't based on the game's difficulty? I'd love to use the Expert restrictions, but hate how Bethesda does the difficulty system, plus GTS is balanced for Adept, which already hits hard!
Aw man, it sucks that this won't work for 1.5.97. Would be perfect for my darkest dungeon styled playthrough. Hopefully someone can make a patch. Mod looks great, though.
A couple suggestions since it's so far location-only: - Saving only while in bed (to take advantage of Go to Bed) - Saving only at home (in addition to only in inns/temples)
Additionally, while I assume you disallow saving in dangerous areas for Apprentice and above (it's a little misleading with your current chart since there's no explicit stating of a sort of hierarchical carryover from level-to-level), I suggest adding a rule to disallow saving while in combat for Apprentice and above (if not covered by your "non-dangerous" condition). I'm pretty sure there's already an SKSE plugin for this restriction, but merging it in is all for the better for an AIO.
If I take the rule description verbatim without more context, enemies can still appear in non-dangerous locations. And I believe the specific time where save-scumming is most exploitative is precisely mid-combat, not actually in any location or location condition.
I don't think i'll do the go to bed thing cause typically, beds are in safe locations like inns/player homes anyway.
as for the combat, yeah i couldn't guarantee that the mod's compatible with the other one then cause it's a closed source mod. but i guess a combat option might be doable easily, so maybe i'll add it as option toggleable in the config file.
I'd say the time where save-scumming is most exploitative is pickpocketing tho and currently, I don't address that at all and I probably won't.
To clarify, I was thinking more of the bandit bedrolls that appear in towers and dungeons, or the dwemer stone beds in some dwemer dungeons. It could provide interesting gameplay if saving is blocked everywhere except when sleeping, much like how skill leveling in survival mode is only possible when sleeping. Beds aren’t always in safe locations. But ofc it’s totally up to you.

edit: it doesn't work 1.5 97.

Edit: added combat toggle in 1.2.0
Edit: added in 1.1.0
