I had issues because I downloaded the standard version, I was going to write a bug feedback or a negative comment, but before I did, I read the comments already made, and realized I made a big "Doo Doo" mistake and downloaded the standard game version and not the one for "SKYUI"...
After downloading the correct one, my "SkyUi" now works! :)
Partially, some interface files are unchanged between Legendary and Special Edition, but others have been modified. The System menu and Start menu I know off the top of my head was changed for Special Edition. This is assuming you do not download the ESPL files provided, Legendary Edition does not support ESPL, if you want to try this with Legendary Edition, install one of the loose file versions
Kind of an odd question, but would this affect script performance while in a menu? In theory, I've heard that scripts in SSE are slowed down because of the lowered UI framerate while in menus. Is this true?
Ideally I'm hoping to increase in-menu performance for scripts as I have mods that take a very long time to process things in menus. (Dragonborn Museum, etc)
Edit: I guess I answered my own question re-reading your description. The SkyUI version does NOT edit SkyUI menus, and the full version will conflict with them. So I assume it is not recommended to overwrite the SkyUI menus. Unfortunate. I guess I'll have to look for a different mod, as I need something that increases framerate in SkyUI menus.
Edit 2: For anyone wondering, it seems the reason this is not allowed by a mod is that the framerate is set in the flash .swf files, not the plugins or scripts themselves. See here for details: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/6ledcf/how_can_you_make_your_interface_60_fps_with_skyui/
You're looking for complex problems due to a misunderstanding hoping for a complex solution.
Scripts slowing down for the UI is false. Some scripts pause when the player's inventory, magic, map, journal, and skill menus are open. While some do not pause, for example, LOTD auto-display relics still runs while in the menu. If you're using SkyrimSouls, the scripts will never pause (especially now on the new version)
The "Full" version is just all of Skyrim's UI swf files with the framerate setting configured to run at 60fps. The "SkyUI" version contains everything from the "Full" version except for the SWF files provided by SkyUI, since SkyUI's UI already runs at 60fps in Special Edition.
The ESPL is empty, it does nothing aside from loading the BSA file which has the edited SWF files stored
I was led on by someone saying it was a framerate issue. I just find it really odd that with Skyrim LE the mods speed through the same scripts in no time flat, but with SSE it takes like 15x as long.
I thought the stuck comments were a bit sassy before I realized my error was the same error that dude made and it was complete user error. Cheers for the mod even when people, myself certainly included, get pretty annoying from time to time.

Does this work with Legendary Edition?

So, for players, what does this speed up? Doesn't SkyUI affect everything in-game? Inventory, blacksmith, etc.
