To this day, I consider
Spaghetti's Cities to be the best vanilla plus overhaul for the hold capitals of Skyrim: it gives them some well-needed details without going overboard, and it is also higly compatible with many modlists. In this goal,
Capitals and Towns of Skyrim is its natural companion. However, I always found some spots here and there that could use some more
love, so I decided to make this
unofficial expansion of Symonson's decorations, first for personal use, then I decided to publish it - with the original author's approval of the idea -, plus some long-time needed patches for popular mods that I use. This work focuses of enhancing what's already been added with things such as architecture details, stuff to sit on and vegetation. As such, my mod is
very light and simple, but it's designed to be a
definitive overhaul of the minor cities, so I
didn't tought about compatibility with most mods that are natively compatible with Spaghetti's or CaToS.
- WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THIS MOD
Addons and Tweaks to all settlements.
Dawnstar received some minor decorations, especially in the docks area, plus the White Hall (very small touches); most noticeably, the blacksmith's grindstone was moved, since it clipped with Spaghetti's Cities - but it's not a requirement.
Morthal got some more clutter on the walls and apothecary, plus the jarl's longhouse is more decorated and with some well needed ownerships.
Winterhold got most of its banners replaced with their own "moved by the wind" versions, since the area is constantly in a blizzard; very little clutter was added, plus some plants; the workbench behind Birna's shop was moved a little so that it's now natively compatible with Farmhouse Chimneys - but it's not a requirement; the jarl's longhouse also received some touches with the ownsership of certain objects.
Falkreath got the bigger changes: aside from the usual clutter here and there, I replaced the ladders on the graveyard's wall with a new, vanilla one; the graveyard itself received a small overhaul too; the jarl's longhouse was also touched and the food platter was replaced with a vanilla one.
Farmhouse Chimneys patch for Old Hroldan, for consistency.
Landscape Fixes for Grass Mods patch for the seams in Morthal and Falkreath.
There is also a version with
all these things combined in a single .esp (for personal use).
NOTE: if you want to make more patches for this mod, feel free to share them, but I'm too lazy to make them.
- REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Naturally
Capitals and Towns of Skyrim, plus its
fix - but it's not mandatory - and any other mod you want for the
patches. I highly recommend to pair this with
Spaghetti's Cities and its
addon by yours truly: that way you'll have a complete vanilla plus overhaul of
all cities; also consider my
City Entrances and
Player Homes for even more consistency! Lastly, check out
RubberSpaghetti's other mods and
Symonson's profile, to fully modify your Skyrim while staying true to the original design.
I truly wanted to thank everyone that helped me in learning the CK basics, and also all the wonderful people on Discord who answered my many and noobish questions: your patience is admirable! Special thanks to
Leet for the landscape patch and his friendliness. And of course, thanks to the authors of the mentioned mods, for giving inspiration.
