😁 Perhaps 20% chance for all argonian bandits, and maybe Deeja (solitude docks, mysterious character), Beem-Ja (Ironbind Barrows- although he's wearing a hooded outfit, mysterious character), From-Deepest-Fathoms (riften docks, mysterious character)🦎 (not sure if it's possible to add helmet to the random-event attacks from characters who spawn in just to attack the players, named after their respective race.)
On Xbox the mod says there’s 16 masks, are they the armored and it’s enchanted variants in the leather section to include the unarmored versions in the misc tab that make up the total 16 masks?
Hi! The masks have 4 different colors, and each color have 4 variations. Armored, clothing, armored enchanted and clothing enchanted. So, there are 16 mask types available in-game.
The original mod caught my eye some time ago but it being crafting-only was a turn off. I feel like these would be nice to find out in the world, rare artifacts from a foreign land owned by witches, warlocks, and maybe even the occasional Argonian.
Think it’d be do-able to make some kind of extra plugin that gives them a very rare chance of being found in certain loot chests or in the possession of certain - appropriate - NPCs?
Yeah I considered creating actual Bog Blight enemies that would drop them upon dying, among other ways of obtaining them, but that's a little too complicated for me in the amount of time I wanted to put in. Figured it would be better to just release the assets sooner rather than later and let other people build on them if they want.
Since they're funerary masks, I imagine they could be supplied by an argonian selling them to other argonians in Windhelm to honor their own dead. Lore-wise they'd need a grave-stake too, but I think there's a lot of potential for interesting fan lore about how the argonians continue to practice elements of their culture while in Skyrim, whether it's the same exact practice or an adapted version of it to suit Skyrim (and Nord bigotry). They probably wouldn't all have that culture since many would be born in Skyrim and integrate with Nord culture, but I find the clash of cultures interesting.
Definitely like the idea Kad. I feel like these would be appropriate to find in the possession of necromancers, witches, and warlocks on very rare occasion, and it could be believable that the College of Winterhold may have one on display in the library or Savos could have one among his personal belongings/trophies in the Arch Mage’s quarters.
In general, I really like the idea of things like this - artifacts and cultural items - showing up in Skyrim. Their rarity making them treasures for those of us who like to collect/display things, but also acting as reminders that Tamriel is a place of diverse peoples and societies and they and their things don’t just exist inside their own borders.
As a huge fan of LOTD I always kinda felt like that sorta thing was missing. A hall of artifacts and objects from other provinces that the player has a small chance of finding in loot or has to claim from specific NPCs/locations.
