Changelogs
The witch faction in Skyrim feels underdeveloped. It consists of only two ranks : Witch (level 4) and Hag (level 8) offering little progression or variety. Visually, they are indistinguishable from generic warlocks, sharing the same outfits and dropping the same weapons. Gameplay-wise, they lack uniqueness, relying on a standard set of spells used by any magic-wielding NPC. This mod seeks to change that by giving witches a distinct identity, both in appearance and combat.

There are now various witch factions. Encounter the fierce Nordic Fryse hags, the enigmatic Dunmeric Mabrigash, the arcane Glenmoril witches, and those inspired by the mystical Wryd Covens. Every faction boasts its own unique spell repertoire, distinctive attire, and exclusive loot. With an expanded ranking system compared to the base game, each faction presents escalating challenges and a rewarding sense of progression. These factions are far from equal: some are weaker and easily dispatched, while others are rare and immensely powerful, posing a true threat to even the most seasoned adventurers. Their presence is scattered across Skyrim, with each group occupying distinct regions that reflect their nature, ensuring a balance between challenge, discovery, and immersion.

Witches of the Wyrd
Shrouded in mystery and deeply attuned to the wilds, the Witches of the Wyrd are an ancient sisterhood that draws power from nature itself. Unlike other practitioners of the arcane, they wield primal magic akin to the Spriggans, weaving spells that make them highly resistant to weaponry; yet their deep connection to the natural world leaves them vulnerable to fire, the one force that can truly undo them. Though their magic is potent, they are the weakest among Skyrim’s hidden covens, relying more on cunning and the protection of their woodland sanctuaries than on raw power. However, those who dismiss them as mere hedge witches may not live to regret it, for some are guarded by monstrous, nature-born sentinels, grotesque beasts of bark and claw, shaped by the wilds themselves. These twisted guardians prowl the depths of ancient groves and shadowed caves, striking down intruders who dare trespass upon sacred ground.

Mabrigash Outcasts
The Mabrigash are an elusive and feared sect of Ashlander witches, outcasts among their own people and masters of fire and forbidden rites. Unlike conventional pyromancers, they wield a slow-burning magic: their flames do little damage on impact but linger, stacking with each strike until their victims are consumed by an inescapable inferno. Even death does not extinguish their sorcery, as their flames continue to smolder long after the caster has fallen. These witches are rarely seen in Skyrim, their presence limited to the remote borderlands near Morrowind, where they are said to dwell in secret. Those who have encountered them speak not only of their relentless fire magic but also of the spectral entities that accompany them: phantasmal flames given shape, haunting the land as eerie, flickering guardians.

Fryse Hags
The Fryse Hags are a mysterious and reclusive sect of Nordic witches, dwelling in the frigid wilderness of Skyrim. Masters of ice magic, they wield a deadly dual-casting technique: with their left hand they unleash a chilling curse, with their right, they conjure a creeping frost that seeps into flesh. Yet, their deep attunement to the cold comes at a cost: their bodies move with a sluggish, almost unnatural stillness, as if frozen by their own power. The undead thralls that guard them are even slower, shambling forward with an eerie inevitability, making escape seem possible, until the cold catches up.

Glenmoril Coven
The Glenmoril Witches are an ancient and enigmatic coven, known for their deep ties to Hircine and the dark arts of blood magic and lycanthropy. Feared as the most powerful witches in all of Skyrim, they possess unnatural resilience to magic, making them formidable foes even against seasoned spellcasters. Some revere them as wise and powerful crones with knowledge long forgotten, while others whisper of their forbidden rituals and cursed pacts. Their connection to the Beast Blood has long been shrouded in mystery, with tales claiming they alone hold the secret to both granting and curing lycanthropy. Rarely seen, these witches dwell only in the remote wilds near the border of High Rock, hidden from the eyes of common folk. But those who dare seek them out speak of an even greater horror: undead werewolves, twisted corpses bound to the Glenmoril Witches’ will. Cursed and enslaved, these creatures are denied entry to Hircine’s Hunting Grounds, doomed to an existence of servitude, their howls echoing with rage and despair.

Hagravens
The Hagravens are twisted crones who have forsaken their humanity in pursuit of dark magic, transforming into grotesque half-woman, half-bird creatures through forbidden rituals. Despite their fragile, avian-like frames, making them more vulnerable to weapons, their mastery of the arcane makes them formidable foes. All Hagravens possess exceptional resistance to magic, their warped forms infused with the essence of the unnatural. Some specialize in deathly sorcery, hurling green-tinged projectiles that seep the very life from their victims, while others are masters of fire or frost, wielding elemental forces with ruthless precision. Unlike many spellcasters, they are not easily felled, as their knowledge of restorative magic allows them to heal wounds and sustain themselves in battle. Their greatest horror lies not just in their own power, but in what they summon. Some of them can call forth grotesque, nightmarish creatures, entities of claw and bone, highly resistant to weaponry yet weak to magic. These monstrosities prowl at their side, ensuring that any who dare to challenge a Hagraven do not do so unscathed. From hidden groves to desolate peaks, these corrupted matriarchs conduct blasphemous rites, hoarding ancient knowledge that many seek but few survive long enough to claim.
