    Hey, simtam here.

Because this mod page was created by someone else who did the port, and later gave me permissions to edit the mod page, I don't really get notified of new comments here.

If you have any question to me, you better try posting a comment at the Skyrim Classic version of this mod:

It looks like using stage 70 to force stormcloak victory makes it impossible to buy Hjerim because Rescue From Fort Neugrad quest is shut down rather than marked completed. Is there a way around this?

You need to have relationship rank at least 2 with the jarl of Windhelm. Is there any other way to increase your rank with Ulfric?

The console command to start the "Thane of Eastmarch" quest is "setstage favor254 10" or "setstage favorjarlsmakefriends 50".
"setstage favor254 25" completes the thane quest and raises the rank with Ulfric to 3, so it should unlock the dialogue to buy Hjerim.

    Greetings!
After using this mod and completing through console command (I've set stage to 60 to give victory to the Legion), the Thalmor became hostile to any guard\imperial faction. I assume this is intentional?

I don't mind it except for one thing: they will attack guards in towns (like Falkreath) during patrol, and if I attack the Thalmor to protect the guards, I get bounty. Is there a way to fix this? I can do a makeshift fix if I can remove the Thalmor faction from "being reported as a crime" if possible, but I'll need to know ho to do so.

If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

Will this work if I have Season Unending newly active? I just received it and haven't visited Hrothgar

    Just tried it out: WORKED.

Details: I had Season Unending + The Fallen newly active (not talked to anyone yet) and installed this mod along with Paarthurnax Dilemma. Both loaded at bottom of MO. After completion, I checked Riften and Markarth and all original guards are maintained.

(Spoilers) Description isn't very clear but I'm assuming the victor of the negotiation scuffle is random; I reloaded a quicksave 3 times to get an Imperial victory instead of Tullius getting ganked (Ulfric was downed only when the Greybeards got involved and assploded Ulfric across the floor). Only issue was: somehow Delphine and Esbern got aggro'd and the Greybeards started beating on Delphine; I think she's essential so it was a duel of the immortals as I tried to break it up, fearful for my game stability. After a short while, I was teleported to the courtyard and the Mother Wind quest of this mod activated without incident. Delphine and the Greybeards were still fighting inside so I ran out of Hrothgar, and used console commands to move Delphine to me (prid #ref, moveto player). She initiated a quest dialogue with me to start 'Paarthurnax', and began walking down the steps I'm assuming to her correct position at SkyHaven. Only condition different from vanilla now is that Ulfric and Elenwen are dead.

This is halfway to what I've been hoping someone would come up with; a way to end the civil war peacefully, without any battles or executions, by exposing the fact that the whole thing is a Thalmor con. If Tullius and Ulfric knew half of what the DB knows by this point in the main quest, they'd settle their few remaining differences and unite against Elenwen. Of course they can't kill her, but the DB can.

I take this as partial proof of concept. Thank you, and thanks to the original mod author!

      Thanks for the kind words.

One could say that the other half is the Second Great War mod (though on SSE it's pending SKSE64 fully ready, I believe).

To be fair it's actually all ulfric fault: not only talos of atmora and tiber septim were different persons (that implies that the talos cult is just wrong), he is the one who started a war. Tullius already know that the Thalmor are happy about the war, he is infact waiting for the moment to strike them, but killing elenwen now would mean going to war with the aldmeri dominion, and inevitably losing it. So what the dragonborn is doing in this mod is essentially putting tamriel into total chaos, with an almost certain victory for the thalmors.

      Actually

In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the "Blood of a Divine" is needed to open the portal to Mankar Camoran's Paradise. The blood used is from the Armor of Tiber Septim, which implies that Tiber Septim indeed became a god.

In The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine the Blessing of Talos is what allows the player to follow Umaril the Unfeathered into the spirit world and destroy his very soul preventing him from being reborn in Oblivion and returning again. The blessing also allows the player to return to his body afterwards, further evidence of Talos' divinity.

To be fair, in TES franchise Divinity doesn't seems to be all that set in stone like it's supposed to be an exclusive race of higher being or something. Tribunal also made themselves have immortal divine power by stealing the power from the heart of Lorkhan. It's pretty much if you have the power you can start calling yourself a god.

Personally I myself never believes in Talos when playing Elder Scroll games, and I think Bethesda really missed the opportunity to let player play as a Dragonborn who does not believe in Talos for role playing purpose (There are incident I can response by showing indifference about Talos worship banning, but I'm disappointed I'm not giving an option to say in game: Talos was a scum sucking wanker and deserved to be burned off the pantheon). I always believe the 'Talos was a scum of earth when he lived' interpretation is closer to the truth than the alternate 'Talos was a god among man even when he lived' interpretation because he was a conqueror. And nice person won't be able to conqueror an entire continent and its diverse people because a nice person would always compromise to make others happy.

EctorJoker666: Um, I tend to disagree. A cursory study of the Thalmor character indicates that they wouldn't be pretending to make nice unless they needed to (and they're so *bad* at it...). It seems to me quite likely that the last war left them a lot more depleted than they would like the Empire to know, Titus Mede's surrender came just in time for them, and this whole civil war is an exercise in buying time and attrition. It's made clear in their dossier on Ulfric that he was in their hands for quite a while before being released, and that he has "proven his worth as an asset." How else than by starting a rebellion? And how would he feel if the thing were put to him this way?

Cordiel: Elenwen's the leader of the Thalmor in Skyrim. Cut off the head and the snake at very least goes home to sort out a new one.

Killing Elenwen during the peace talks ... will most likely ... start the Second Great War between The Empire and AD. I suggest a more ... subtle way of doing it ... but even so ... she will be replaced by another high Thalmor official.

Elenwen and Ulfric ... collaborated in the past. The Dossier suggest that at some point Ulfric BECAME ... unresponsive to direct contact, which suggest that in the past ... there were direct contacts between Ulfric and Thalmor.

Talos is a non-aedroth Divine just like the Tribunal from Morrowind. It is not like his divinity is in question ... but his part in the Aedroth Pantehon ... accepted by all mer, men or beasts. The Elves are right ... because the covenant between Akatosh and Alessia ... was for the 8 Aedras ... the original spirits ... while Talos wasn't an original, but achieved his divinity through CHIM, so him being considered an lesser divine, is not an opinion is a fact. But the Thalmor radical faction take this fact to the extreme ... and try to deny worship of Talos throughout Tamriel ... not only as an official Divine, but as an unofficial divine as well! Even the Elves have lesser dieties which they worship ... not part of the Alessian Pantheon ... not part of the Official Religion. So the Elves are right, the Thalmor are wrong. Between a age long religious debate, losing an devastating war, and The Empire not ready ... yet ... for another conflict of such magnitude ... Ulfric Stormcloak (manipulated by the Thalmor ... first directly, then indirectly) is pushing his own agenda and power play ... on the expense of Skyrim region ... and the entire Tamriel ... and the chances to ultimatelly and definatively defeat the Thalmor. I cannot support that, it doesn't feel right ... for nords and any other races ... including the mer races.

you seem to do not get the intentions of tullius. after the rebellion he is planning to prepare to fight the thalmor. now the empire is to weak, even with ulfric's help the thalmor would rekt the imperial forces with ease.

I only tried setstage bahcwpaxos 8. The command needed to be typed into the console prior to entering High Hrothgar, and also before any other subsequent setstage command. After the battle concluded, holds (as in, some of Skyrim's cities) either became occupied by Stormcloak or Imperial soldiers depending on which side survived the fight. Town guards were basically replaced by soldiers wearing either Imperial or Stormcloak armor. It also sometimes changed the hold's Jarl plus the Jarl's housecarl. There was a notification on the screen indicating which holds changed ownership.

      Sorry if that's not sufficiently detailed.. it's been a year+ since I tried it last, and I'm currently playing as a non-Dragonborn with Civil War Neutrality SSE. ^^;

While this is a cool idea, I'd be happy with a mod that allows you to tell Ulfric to shut his mouth when he demands control of Markarth. I never liked the idea that this quest forces you to give land over to Ulfric. Never understood why he couldn't just walk out and Tullius lends soldiers to Whiterun so you can catch the dragon.

      Nice to have!

If you are thinking about this mod, it is just about shutting down the civil war questline, wrapped in a fancy manner. No way this is an immersive modification. Really, the Greybeards would immobilize all the unruly belligerents at High Hrothgar with their shouts, not just the player character, if any fighting broke out in the negotiations room.

I've got another modding project for a more realistic main quest dialogue overhaul, and there could be a number of ways that the peace talks fail, including your idea of vetoing the opening demand. Should that happen, I don't know, perhaps you'd have to fight a battle of Whiterun as a slight setback.

It's a blessing in disguise. If you give up Markarth, then Thongvor becomes Jarl. If you take it back for the empire, Thongvor gets booted to Windhelm! Viola, no more annoying Silverblood snob in the hallway.

While this is a great idea, I have to agree with what cordiel said about killing Elenwin, I don't think that should end the civil war, considering shes just an ambassador, and also whats going to keep the thalmor from coming in and wiping out both factions afterwards? Maybe you could make it to where afterwards all of the Thalmor justicar are all slaughtered inside of each embassy in their respective holds, or maybe the opposite. One last tweak I would make is adding a persuasion check to launch an attack on Elenwin,

While this mod scenario starts with such an dialogue option, it is the death of Tullius or UIfric that abruptly ends the civil war questline.
      Elenwen can be even spared.

The follow-up Thalmor invasion is explored in "The Second Great War" mod (at Skyrim Classic nexus), but requires as a start condition to have either general dead.

So, in some hypothetical expanded version of this mod, called tentatively "Main Quest Dialogue Overhaul", if Tullius and Ulfric would survive and Elenwen died, it would not likely terminate the civil war immediately.
