About this mod
This mod adds Clairvoyant weapons. The blades are made from clear crystal, enchanted to radiate soft and mysterious bluish light when drawn and cast shadows onto surroundings. The light can serve as a blue illumination in the dark places in Skyrim in searching for a path. Enjoy!

Change log
ver 1.8 (3/8/25)
1. changed the light source position (big change) to look more natural and realistic
2. streamlined the script, recompiled and added the second "failsafe" light in case the evil immersion-breaking "flickering issue" happens indoors or in dungeons like Labyrinthian (even if shadow light fails, non-shadow light comes in to help immersion). And it looks brighter (x2) by default.
3. removed light hand spell fx. now you can focus more on the blade itself than on hands
4. added ingredients for forging weapons, so Alvor sells silver and moonstone and Riverwood Trader sells flawless diamond and sapphire. Talk to Lucan.
5. implemented CID item distribution functionality
Ver 1.7.1(3/6/25)
changed the weapon wielding speed (slowed it down a step for each)
Ver 1.7 (3/6/25)
compacted form IDs for esl
ver 1.6 (3/5/25)
1. The esp is now ESL flagged
2. changed all the blade texture and mesh settings so that not only edge but also the entire blade glows with elegance and clarity.
Added an environment map, so now it looks shinier and clearer as a crystal should be.
3. added daggers
4. added clear version. clear version does not cast light, but still glows in the dark, pulsing as if spirits dwell and breathe within
5. changed texture and mesh settings of skull eyes to synch with blade pulsing (the energy source is within the eye gem stones)
6. changed all stats; no longer overpowered; now similar to or slightly better than vanilla ebony blades
7. names changed from 1H, 2H to Longsword, Greatsword for lore-friendliness
8. the original item location, display case and small box were removed due to a possible conflict with other mods that modify the cell data
(highly unlikely, but could happen)
9. now you can buy the weapon from Alvor, the Riverwood blacksmith
ver 1.0 initial release (3/3/25)
Requirement

None other than the base game
If you want to use CID, visit the page and download all the requirements
(Special thanks go to n7magistrate for this majestic suggestion for distributing Clairvoyant all over Skyrim)
NOTE: I do not use SPID since the SPID version makes the vendors equip the weapon, preventing you from buying it from them.

4 ways to get them:
1. Buy from a merchant
Go to Riverwood and talk to Alvor, the blacksmith.
(I cross my fingers he is still alive...)
2. Forge them
You can forge them anywhere in Skyrim. You need Silver ingot, Moonstone ingot, and a leather strip for base and a flawless sapphire for blue ones and a diamond for clear ones. No perk required.
3. Use a mod

Always the best way ever to get items in 3 sec
4. Use CID

NOTE: If you happen to think the blue illumination is too dim, you can double the brightness by wielding two blue swords or daggers in both hands.
Clairvoyant means the one that sees clearly. I hope you will enjoy this mod and carry them into dark places in Skyrim and keep walking in light.
known issues
==========================
Since these blades cast a shadow light, every now and then you may encounter light flickering (on and off depending on your viewing angle) issues, especially when you are in interior cells. If you wield blue Clairvoyant swords in both hands, the problem becomes worse. This shadow light limit is a well known hard-coded game engine issue. There is no workaround for this currently. However, I use Community Shaders in conjuction with Light limit fix to alleviate the problem. It just works like a charm for non-shadow lights, I believe not yet for the number of shadow lights present in a cell, but it really helps in many occasions. Also, when your companion wield the sword behind you, your back and legs may look blocky and ugly, especially when naked xD. There is no solution to this. For a static shadow light, this horrible "ugly + blocky shadows on character body" issue can be resolved by increasing the "shadow depth bias" from 1 to over 50 or 100, but this option is not available for dynamic carriable light, to my best knowledge.
Why this mod
1. Lighting issue at night
There is a good reason that the torch guards are carrying around at night is a fake light in that there is no shadow incurring when the light reaches an object because shadow lights are bad for fps. However, what is a mod for? It's created for transcending limits. Hence this mod, introducing a shadow-casting blue torch. Plus, Community Shaders is beautiful and well made, but it's too dark at night for me. So, I wanted to come up with a lore-friendly way to solve it.
2. Need for a clear see-through sword
My companion was all dressed up from top to toe in white and I needed a transparent sword to match the look cohesively for taking cool screenshots.
