Merge the Transparent light_IED NPC in the Global tab and it should be applied. (Probably for NPCs with keyword:ActorNPC.) If the light is too dim, change MizunaLight_FaceLight in the Item column to another light from the merged MizunaLight Face, or check how to change the light intensity in Description. The preset is only effective during conversation, so if you want it to be applied all the time, open Conditions from Equipment overrides and delete In dialogue.
We have received reports that it was possible to use this by installing [Backported Extended ESL Support]. Please give it a try. It's based on Skyrim's Candlelight, so if Candlelight is working properly, there shouldn't be any problems.
I think I'm using it. Maybe I just don't know how to use it. I don't have a Display Manager - Custom, for instance. It is just named Display Manager. Maybe this is from another Immersive Equipment version. It can be difficult to use IED, sometimes.
I got it working thanx to your preset. I'm using it for the NPCs, too, and now, I disable Face Light Plus. Thank you very much for uploading your preset, using Ied is very confusing, sometimes xp
I'll think about updating the description in the near future. Actually, it would be nice if I could upload the preset, but for some reason I received a report that it could not be used on versions other than 1.5.97, so I deleted it.
can't seem to make the facelight work for some reason. be it manual or with the preset. but the regular lighting works just fine :( i'm playing on 1.5.97.
It could just be that the light is dim and feels like it's not working. The brightness is adjusted to the minimum level so as not to get in the way, so please check in a completely dark place, or Use SSEEdit to adjust the Radius (light irradiation range) and Fadevalue (light intensity) of FaceLight. By using MizunaLight_SetPosition added in ver3 to adjust the position and then changing to FaceLight, it is easier to understand the light position.
forgot to report back, turns out it just didn't work with one follower (Remiel), and after bumping up the fade value, now i can see the facelight. thank you.
Heads up, this causes TexGen generation to fail, at least for me. Assertion failure, it occurs right after this mod and disabling this mod resolves the issue, which is in line with assertion failure behavior. Thanks again!
Thank you for letting us know. I'm glad you liked it. It seems that the error was caused by an inappropriate FormID. I fixed the FormID, so it's probably fixed now (I haven't checked this because I'm not using texgen)
Yes, it is possible. However, please note that there are limitations to the Skyrim program itself. (If there are too many light sources, they will flash every time you move your field of vision.)
The light will shake (due to its attachment to the character, it will be slightly affected by the character's shaking), which greatly affects the experience and gives people the illusion of flickering

I changed the IED preset with condition to not sneak. Works like a charm.

I recall that Custom could be launched from the View in the upper left by displaying the IED menu.

(It otherwise totally works in the latest AE.)

Haven't run the entire LOD gen yet but iirc it crashed on startup after building the modlist. Seems very likely to be resolved.
Edit: TexGen ran successfully w/ Transparent Light IED enabled. GGs!
