Description

This mod adds new ENV maps to some of the equipment from BS Bruma in order to allow it to work properly with the complex material feature found in ENB.  The main objective of this mod is to try to improve the look of the metallic gear and equipment by adding the proper maps.  The eventual plan is to try to get all the weapons and armor(and some clothes) that contain metal covered, but this will take time as I am still learning.  I'm still new to working with and editing textures so feedback is welcome especially as many of these sets did not have any basic env mapping to begin with which I had to create myself.

Currently complete sets,

- Colovian Light and Heavy Iron Armor
- Cyrodiilic Iron Weapons
- Cyrodiilic Steel Weapons

Installation

Install with mod manager then run the parallax gen mod to generate patched meshes.  Optional file is just a different naming scheme in case you have issues.

About

For those that don't know, complex material is a feature that was added in enb in order to improve the look of materials(primarily metals) in the game.  Using the color channels in the _m or _em maps you can control different features of the effect.

Red Channel - This functions essentially as the maps did without complex material and controls reflection brightness.

Green Channel - This is for the glossiness of the reflection.

Blue Channel - This controls whether or not something is metal.  If this channel is completely white then the area is metal and reflection and cubemap will be colored according to the diffuse.  This allows you to have for example gold and silver in a texture receive proper specular color without splitting the mesh.  Note that for metal diffuse must be BRIGHT.

Alpha - This controls parallax.   Set to black if parallax isn't used.

Words of Thanks

Huge thank you to the Beyond Skyrim team for their wonderful work!
Also thank you to Kartoffels whose upscales I used to create the maps and edited diffuse, made it so much easier to see what I was working on.
Finally I'd like to thank leostevano, Tomatokillz, and mechanicalpanda for answering my questions and giving me feedback as well as johnskyrim and Boris for helping teach me how this works in the first place.
