I wouldn't say a child, more of just unexperienced. The Blades have more knowledge about the dragons, than anyone else (maybe even more than the Greybeards themselves). But I agree, Delphine is a rasist b**ch, she wants the head of a friendly dragon, a powerful ally, just because he is a DRAGON! I personally don't like the way the "Paarthurnax dilema" mod solved it, but it did solve it at least. And with this mod, she even looks acceptable now, so yea, why not? :D
You can't blame her. She's gone her entire life reading how dragons tortured and enslaved all of Skyrim. Paarthurnax included. She would have been taught nothing but how evil dragons are. You can;t blame her for falling back on all she's ever known.
Uber later reply, but I always got the impression she was overcompensating. The Thalmor utterly destroyed the Blades and caught the Empire off guard because they had a wait-and-see mindset about the Summerset Isles. Delphine sees Party-Snacks as the same kind of potential threat and, after decades spent dwelling on their mistakes and failures, she is desperate to prevent the next atrocity she is sure is coming. Of course, Delphine is wrong and proves more of a hindrance to the Dragonborn than anything else, but one can easily appreciate where she is coming from.
I've found it strange how none of the large scale NPC makeover mods have ever touched Delphine. Why not? They haven't withheld from touching vanilla (relatively) beautiful characters or ugly ones, so why not Delphine? She's even a significant main quest character.
If I'm wrong about none of the mods altering her, please tell me which mod it is, because I want to leave no NPCs unmodded.
I use this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/25977 and overwrite it with this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27147 (technically, I installed them in the opposite order implied, but the file-conflict-overwrite in Vortex is as I stated). This will definitely change Delphine, but this mod we are commenting on does more to change her, and I happen to prefer the older variant (makes more sense).
After installing this mod I can't uninstall it becouse she gets black face. Nothing fixes it and I don't use any other mods changing her look besides hair texture.
After installing the more matured version of this mod, I noticed right away that the Delphine in my game doesn't look like the screenshots. The only discernible changes I see are in the hair and the scars, but her face is still buckled as ever. When you took your screenshots, were you using a face overhaul mod?
I had to replace her face because it has the dark face bug if it isn't replaced with something like this. The problem is, I've always been attracted to her and this mod, in my game, with TCM, makes her look old and battered. I know she has a past, but I wish she was younger and more fierce looking, not that I am going to take the time to do all that, especially since I never went to the trouble to fix Delphine and Ulfrick's dark face bugs in the first place.
I went to the oldrim version to compare the Old vs Young version. But would be neat to have everything in one page. Cause I hope the author didn't redo this page from the ground up, can just mirror it to SE
Would it be possible to get the custom hair version? I don't have anything against the hairstyle she has now but it would look better with the hair you have on the Oldrim page if possible.
Edit: Gonna see if I can import her on my Diversity .esp to get the Geralt hair you got on the Oldrim images
