Terrain Shadows will now directly use any height map found in xLODGen outputs, meaning you can just generate height maps with xLODGen and it will work without any additional work. However, height maps in data/textures/HeightMaps/ will override xLODGen ones.
For some reason this mod was a bit tougher to install than all the others that were recommended in the CS page, it said the .ini wasn't there on the in-game CS UI.
While using MO2 it seems that when I download the Height maps provided in this mod it deleted the contents of the file for "Terrain Shadows" and then left only the textures>Heightmap stuff, might be some weird bug on my end but I had to manually put the Heightmaps in there for it to work.
ik this is a few months late, but the reason most people who uninstall ENB have a CTD, is that not all the ENB files are removed. The most common file that gets left behind is the d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler files. These may be left behind from the uninstall in your folders. I went to youtube and used a video to walk me through the uninstallation because I had that same issue. I'll include the link to the most straightforward one I found
I don't use Lodgen, Dyndolod or anything like that, so do I still have to install height map generator? If so where do I copy and generate the height map textures?
So, if i understood the mod correctly. This is an alternative to having an underside mesh that calculates shadows using a heightmap. So when generating lods in dyndolod i can skip the terrain underside, right?
It seems Worldspace Transition Tweaks and Terrain Shadows for CS don't get along. When I look from Skyrim towards Solstheim, these "fake" black shadows appear. They disappear when I enter the Solstheim worldspace.

or is it better to pick 1?
