Not only a good texture but what appears to be a properly optimized 2k to 4k version. A lot of "4k" textures out there look like someone just increased the size, and or added a filter over the original in photoshop, and didn't do anything additional to it. The comparison images look like there is actually quality gain from it. Much appreciated = )
Narf - I'm glad I caught this tidbit of info from you two. Now I see why * Never too late =) * LOL.
Looking forward to trying these textures also; figured I'd throw in with Haladoon & say I love your videos also GamerPoets, learned much, thanks! (I'm still grinning, have a nice day guys)
Damn, didnt realize there was an SMIM for this too. Odds are they have their own texture path as usual. I'll take a look and make a patch for it. Cause this probably won't work.
*I couldn't find it in SMIM files. Does it use vanilla? Let me know if this mod overwrites it. Thanks!
Hmm when I installed this mod, there was no warning that it overwrite the ones from SMIM, unlike the lantern retexture mod you posted before. So I think it's not related with SMIM?
I saw no data for nif or dds files for practicedummy.nif in SMIM. I'm pretty sure it's unchanged. Most times, SMIM will change the mesh, but not mess with the texture, excluding a handful of things. He might have been referring to just the vanilla look. So it's all good. Thank you for the confirmation!
It's possible you're asking too much of your computer on-load. I had this issue a while ago while installing one of amidianborn's textures, particularly for the Ebony Mail. At the time I was playing on a laptop, and every time I loaded up with the mod installed I got a crash, but then when I removed it, no crash. This shouldn't happen because retextures don't bonk the game up, so it could be possible that your computer is having trouble loading it up on first-load.
What I did at the time was go into an interior, somewhere small. Then re-install the mod. From then on, no issues.
Hmm, maybe, I have lots of model/texture mods installed, is there any limitation? I also use the mammoth cheese retexture and working fine... my pc is quite high spec so I didn't think about this before
That's interesting. I use 4k no crashes, I even went in with 2k when designing and had no issues when taking these screenshots. Raymus might have a point about the textures. With one of my other mods, somebody mentioned the standing stones gave CTD and I had no issue, but then the Ritual stone had a CTD near it, but I came to find out it was a tree mod that caused it. Have you ever used Fallrim Tools as well? If you decide to install and uninstall mods during gameplay, it can cause lots of issues and it fixes them for the most part. But yes, try to uninstall it, go to a new cell. Save, then install mod, then see if you keep getting CTD.
I think textures still use ram or vram. There is still a limit yes. It can be many factors that cause CTD.
I can't see the image when going to your link. However, I will say. I edited all the textures associating with the dummies except Hay and small barrel on the one dummies head as mentioned in description.. Woodmetalstrip1 and 2 were replaced. If you can send me a link again I'd be happy to view it, but if you used a different texture for the barrels, reinstall that mod and you are good to go. When installing new mods it is important to chose the right prompts when overwriting files in NMM in case you use a diff mod. Thanks!
Dammit Bethesda. Why did they cross textures together like that. xD It doesn't look that great imo. I'm gonna go see if I can find it in my game and see what I think of it. Are you just in a random cellar? Hmmm....I may make a replacement texture for that as an optional file that looks less "organic" But not sure if I will get to it right away.
Oh damn, did you just edit some values in SSEEdit? You should let me know how you did it, or send me the patch via PM and I'll add it for others to use if that is possible.

Sorry to say, but in a side by side comparison the vanilla textures look much more creative.

Nice Saber pic, btw! Although I prefer Tohsaka.

I think you will recognize your own texture immediately.
The "normal" small barrels don't share the same texture like the large barrels.
I have to admit that just like you I think your texture doesn't look that good and the big barrel (though it looks fantastic on the dummies! )
So I made a small patch for myself by editing the large barrel .nif so it won't use your texture.
