Hi Kwamagg! Thank you for keeping my old mod alive and improving on it. I love this idea and your version is definitely going in my next playthrough. Keep up the good work.
It's up to you actually, but in the scripted one barrels behave more predictably, the explosion doesn't teleport as it tends to happen with the vanilla script, it is linked to the position of the barrel. Also the object is completely removed after the explosion and doesn't leave behind (as sometimes happens in the normal version) an empty barrel. Also, it supports Grab and Throw and More Interactive Objects mods.
The main differences: - Normal version has no conditions for igniting, the barrel can explode from any interaction. Doesn't work well with Grab and Throw (could leave an infinite fire) - In scripted, barrels can only be triggered by using something fiery
P.S. Thank you for letting me know. And we do need it still. Originally I meant to put it up as an optional version among the beta scripted one, so got confused
The original mod itself simulates the behavior of a falling oil lamp, that's most likely the reason. As long as there are no conditions for an explosion, everything works. I'm planning on messing around with it, I'll see what I can do

would be very nice if you could make it work together.
grab and throw gives some great gameplay opportunities with that, i believe.
