Hi, could I have your permission to upload a handful of diffuse textures with some purist color tweaks here on nexusmods? Your mod would still be required for normal maps and all the other textures :)
Hey you can upload recolours of diffuse as long as my mod is a hard requirement. However, I do plan to make some more colour tweaks closer to vanilla if you want to wait for that instead. I just didn't have a great tool for it (janky gimp plugin). Is this Chainner? I wasn't aware it had a colour transfer, it works well.
I'll wait then! It is Chainner. I think the Color Transfer node is new. It works well for some textures and terribly for others. There's also the Average Color Fix node that can also work.
It might take me a while to get them all how I like as not happy with all my results (I’m also adjusting some height maps as well). I had a look and I think I might go with a middle ground, so feel free to make your own changes more to your liking. What I do is blend the colour matched texture with opacity over the original to half match. Then adjust contrast and such as vanilla textures can be a bit high contrast.
Oh man I would love to see more vanilla friendly color tweaks, I think to match the vanilla snow color the tone has to be colder(similar to Cathedral Snow). I like playing without generating LOD for new land mods, and the snow tends to be a bit too bright in comparison.
Also Whiterun tundra looks a bit greener in vanilla.
Otherwise I'm basically satisfied with the mod, just I still haven't managed to fix texture blending without messing up anything else.
Maybe adding a non parallax version? Or just shipping parallax textures separately would make it easier to avoid this?
This is exactly what I've been looking for, for so long I've wanted to improve the visuals of Skyrim while remaining true to the original vanilla art direction and color pallete. There are so many wonderful texture mods, such as Skyland AIO which I've used most as while some things are different from vanilla it's the closest to the original without simply upscaling original textures, but this is exactly what I want. I look forward to seeing Faithful HD become a series or collection beyond landscapes - like architecture, clutter, plants, etc. - though I know mod development takes time and I wouldn't want to pressure and rush the process. With that being said, I'll be tracking your future projects with great interest! Also, I've never given endorsements before and I'm happy to make this mod the first one I give one to!
I would love to do architecture and props one day but I have a lot more to learn than basic texture mixing. Currently trying to learn proper modelling, sculpting and texturing but it will take a while.
I have some WIP fort stuff but not happy with it atm.
Understandable, no rush on the modding process, I have never made a mod nor do I have the time or patience to learn how so I respect the work any mod developer does so keep up the great work!
New favorite landscape retexture, excellent work. Any chance you could make a recolor for green tundra grasses? I'm hoping to pair this with Skoglendi: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/93944
Hey thanks it means a lot. I could take a look at doing green grasses one day but it is kinda out of scope for the mod and I have some others textures I want to tweak and add first. I've also been trying to learn more 3d stuff so have had less time. Will try if I can
I think Grass and Ground Overhaul blends with these textures pretty well. Veydosebrom Regions was also pretty alright, but I'm not really into it anymore.

There's a mix of gray and brown dirt, without that mod it's all gray and looks more consistent.
let me know if you have any issues.
