Can you make a high poly mesh different versions that effects all dragons no external textures so we can use with vanilla or any textures we want? Would appreciate it and others would too!
This mod does it to where it effects every dragon but its not high enough polygons and he doesn't want to make higher poly versions for others to use. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/116557
If those are alreadyv58k they are pushing the limit for single objects, however I could probably quadruple that by breaking them into multiple objects. Still that's a ton of work and would take along while. I'll give it a shot. The animation would be the hard part. I'm getting better at animation, but all of my stuff still has a small amount of jankiness.
I am working on this, but the wings are pissing me off. The way that the membrane goes from 3d to 2d confuses blender into thinking that it should have an outside and an inside instead of 2 outsides. This makes it so when I convert it back to a nif the texture doesn't know which side of the polygon to be on.
It seems that making it double sided fixes the wings issue. Now it is just correcting some animation issues. A few bones bend in the wrong spots and there is a little stretching of some vertices. Also, it doesn't transition super-well when killed in game. I also had to reduce 90% of the geometry coming in at just over a million polys to get it to even work.
Please make sure it works with vanilla skyrim sony's stupid ass put the no external assets rule on ps4 skyrim appreciate your hard work and others as well.Actually forget about the external assets we found a way.
So far none of them have hurt any performance, so why not have them be vanilla but super-detailed. I mainly make them for VR, since everything appears much closer, and any lack of 3D is so obvious when viewed stereoscopically.
It is the best way to play, but it just cannot look as good as SSE. It can come pretty close. RN, Community Shaders does not have all the features that ENB has, but ENB is no longer being developed for it, and does not have all the features that ENB for SE has, so either way, you'll be missing some things. It takes a ton of mods to make it presentable, and an incredibly powerful computer to run it. With all those caveats in mind, it is still the ultimate experience. Just being able to point 2 spells in different directions in battle is amazing, and that was in the crappy PS4 version. Basically any regular mod that works with SE works with VR. SKSE mods need to be specifically made for it, but there are some really talented coders out there making that happen, and the NG skse framework allows for easier mod making in that respect. It won't be long until it will have parity with SE visually (if your PC can take it), and all of the VR specific stuff that already exists makes it the definitive version of the game.
damn, you sold me on VR. I have been wondering about it for years and since i don't have a headset I don't know when i'll ever get around to it. And ah okay, thats cool! yea I'm sure some new breakthroughs will happen soon! fingers crossed! XD
it really is okay, i work on it for my job its so low powered looool i get it, i want something awesome too. i was told the htc vive is awesome, but its so expensive. better save up lol for skyrim VR i actually saw a playthrough by Many a true nerd and it looked so fun! honestly, i just really want a world like morrowind, oblivion and skyrim with VR and i just can't wait! whats it like fighting a dragon in VR? must be exhilarating!
I got to admit the first time I fought a dragon in VR it actually got my heart pumping. Also, the quest 3 is the best cheap option. Probably not worth upgrading from the 2 to the 3, but if you don't have a headset yet that's the one I'd get.
Don't get me wrong, I really do like my Quest 2, and sure a Quest 3 would be a little better. What I am really waiting for is a single headset to come out with a list of certain features and not cost $2k. Inisde out tracking, pancake lenses, eyetracking, 120 hz, and OLED display. PSVR2 doesn't have all of the pancake lenses, and Quest 3 uses LCD screens. Bigscreen Beyond and Vive Pro 2 need base stations. Apple has them all, but it doesn't have controllers, and costs $2000.
Right now, the closest thing to what I want is Quest Pro, but it has local dimming LED instead of OLED and it only runs at 90hz. PSVR 2 is also pretty close, but those fresnel lenses aren't an upgrade from the ones on my Quest 2.
i dont really understand the lenses stuff etc but i will do my research. it seems it is quite hard to find the right VR headset. hmm. if the base station is strong enough, what would you recommend? I have only ever experienced Quest 2 and it is WEAK lmao
Fresnel have light streaking and are thicker, which means the display needs to be farther from your face. Pancake a thin and clear and reduce neck stress. Supposedly base stations offer supreme tracking, but they are an added cost. Plus you need to set them up around your play area. If I had an unlimited budget I would go with them and the big screen beyond. BSB is tiny, and has amazing resolution OLED screens, but it also has drawbacks. You need index base stations and controllers, and it only runs at 90hz.

this modder decided "Why NOT?!"
heheh great mod, idk why but i love the concept of just being ultra detailed lol
