    Update 2021

I am working to a bigger project that will bring ETD to another level, not sure if i will be able to achive the same i did with this mod, anyway i am at the moment creating a forest with all uniques trees and trunks, the mod would have more than 10000 trees on field or around that, so it is taking a lot of time cause i am building and creating my self the new textures trunks, expecially that one with snow on them, all mod would be in 2k and will add also features from EVT to create a different mix of tree

So, I use SFO and found out this mod is incompatible. Is there any way I can make them compatible myself? like, if I just dont use any of the Nif files from SFO, would they work together? or am I stupid and SFO wouldnt work at all if I did that. Idk how this stuff works. so

There are programs that lower resolution of textures. DDSopt, Ordenador, Cathedral Assets Optimizer, etc. You can use those.

This mod looks cool, but I worry that in VR with everything 4K, it would tank performance. Has anyone tried it in VR?

Texture mods generally don't have much of a performance impact until you run out of VRAM altogether, at which point everything turns into a microstutter slideshow. I'm running a Skyrim VR modlist with around 200 texture mods with basically 4k everything and not having a problem on my 1800X / Vega 64.

I used to have to be more careful back when I was on a 4GB card.

I have an 11GB 1080ti and my VRAM is at 40%, so I'm probably good. However, I thought I read that Skyrim is limited to like 4GB of addressable VRAM because of some directX limitation. That's not true I guess?

I tried this mod and the simply bigger trees patch and while I didn't notice any slow down, it messed up the tree LOD's where some large pine trees were cropped or distorted in the distance. I played a bit with the load order but couldn't figure out a fix.

I believe that limitation may only be for Oldrim and the limitations it's engine has. SE should not be an issue there.

I would like at least a 2K version for long term play because 4K would just destroy fps and eat up my memory.

I was shocked to find how much performance this simple mod takes. I lost 15-20 FPS standing outside Riverwood.
I admit I have a barely average system. But this mod takes more than any other mod in the ~150 mods I have installed.
System: [email protected] Mhz, 16Gb, GTX950.

Do the trees still sway with this mod installed or do the meshes in this mod break the vanilla tree sway?

This (and ET3D) look amazing, but they do seem a little flat from the screenshots. I'm guessing these are just from photos and not photogrammetry, so there are no baked normal maps? Did you generate normal maps from the textures, or just using vanilla normals?
