I don't normally write comments but I must say, this is an Absolute Gem of a mod! It saved my whole playthrough and saved me from having to uninstall and reinstall the whole game and all the mods I have (about 120 now I think). I'm on game version 1.6.1170.0 & it seems to work.
My Character had just turned level 50 and suddenly without warning the game would freeze. I couldn't walk my Character 5 yards down the road when FREEZE! It kept happening constantly and broke my whole game. I even tried starting a new playthrough, same problem. Walked my character a short distance, Freeze! I had resigned myself to the fact I was going to have to uninstall and reinstall the whole game & all my mods, not to mention loose my favourite custom character to whom I have become rather attached. *crying face*
Then I saw this mod and it was a lightbulb moment. When did my freezing happen? Every time npc's spawned in (bandits, assassins etc.). What do they all have in their inventory? Levelled lists. So I tried this mod as a last ditch attempt to fix my broken game and it was literally like a miracle cure!
If your having any sort of crashing or freezing in your game I Urge you to try this mod before you give up and uninstall everything. I cannot express my gratitude to the kind saints SeaSparrow & Shekhinaga for this mod. You are the best! Thankyou so much.
I wish I saw this mod and this comment before I rage uninstalled SSE and every mod (I had over 1000 active). I had exactly that problem you described. Oh well, on to the next modlist.
Man your mod just saved my playthrough! I kept getting an issue with LeveledItem (53). Thank you for makeing this mod casue I had no other way to fix this crash!
Hi, I'm loving this mod, it has saved a tremendous amount of hassle on my end. I have been having LItemBookClutter entries going over the 255 limit and now I'm trying to see what I can do about it.
What I wanted to ask here is, what can I do about it now? I know I can simply consider which mods are more important to me to keep and which need to go but before I start culling I wanted to know if there was other avenues I could take? I've accepted that I will probably need to remove certain mods, which is a shame because I was really liking them, but if there is a way that I am unaware of as of now I would like to ask first. I am getting better with SSE Edit, and certain modding programs but obviously, even after 5 years of this hobby, I still only know maybe 20% of it XD.
Hm, so, if starting a new save; talk with the mod author. Notify them that their script is running more times than expected. Maybe they will publish an update. In practice, you can just.. not worry about it. It's not like you'll crash anymore.
There is always nuclear option 3: Fixing the mod on your end, though that will require you to edit the script!
Hmm, based on your answer I think I am misunderstanding what is happening then.
My understanding was that if an item isn't added to the formlist, it won't spawn in the world? Like if an important quest book for a quest mod doesn't get added to the list, then it doesn't load and the book won't ever exist. Am I horribly misunderstanding the consequences of ignoring these?
A leveled list is a stand in for an item/actor/spell. Instead of using a static object (iron sword, steel sword, elven sword etc), you put them in a leveled list and have that decide what to spawn. Leveled lists also have a change to not spawn something (if desired), or to only spawn things after a certain level.
Leveled lists are very useful for determining where to put things in to have them appear in the game correctly (for example, there is a leveled list that determines what spell tomes appear in merchant inventories). Naturally, mods insert things into them to have their things appear at consistent places and at consistent times with vanilla, so you are correct in theory that if an item is not inserted, it won't appear.
The problem assumption here is that objects can only be inserted once. A single object can be inserted mutliple times in the same list, and doing so actually comes up occasionally (imagine a leveled list that has to pick between 5 objects - if you have 4 of the same object and 1 other object, that other object effectively has a 20% chance of appearing). In your case, the leveled list already has the form you are interested in adding. However, it gets added again every time you boot up the game. Hence why it the problem is now "safe to ignore" - the thing is already in your leveled lists.
Oh I think I understand. In essense, with my example, that hypothetical book wouldn't be added to the list BUT the book would still exist in the world where it's supposed to be? So I don't have to worry about new quest mods being added and it being unable to load new book's for example?
EDIT: I'm sorry if I'm not getting it, this may be skimming waaaaay over my head. If I'm not getting this right, would there be a resource you'd recommend I could take a look at?
Good day. I was advised the crashes I experienced were due to Leveled List overflow. After Installing your plug-in, it turned out not to be the case. Would you attempt to diagnose the issue through a CrashLog? Would be immensely thankful.
Update: The issue is related to some mods that rely on SkyPatcher.
Not sure if this helps but you could try pasting your crash log here. Its helped me figure out multiple crash logs in the past. alot of times it doesnt know the reason but usually gives some advice where to look anyways. https://www.skyrimcrashdecoder.com/
No body seems to know why I feel some mod is interrupting the process I don't know which one Any clue? At least tell me the mods related to what are causing problem, This fix is my top wanted i don't plan putting it aside I appreciate anyone's help
What are the chances that there is an option to modify the function so that it reorganizes leveled lists with more than 255 entries at runtime to be a nested leveled list so that all of the items can stay in it?
How I hate updates... I'll have to re-assemble the folder of 53 fixes into one archive. I thought that this fix would not be updated. Is this the latter or is it better to delete it immediately?
p.s Sorry. I just got really tired of having to reassemble my build over and over again.
The change is just two lines in the INI because users complained. The mod itself still functions the same. You don't need to update from v1, even. The fix itself is safe for ongoing games, so there is absolutely no reason for the abuse.

Also, Shekhinaga and SeaSparrow are the same person! I usually go by SeaSparrow in online spaces, but the name was taken before I joined.

I feel some mod is interrupting the process
I don't know which one
Any clue?
At least tell me the mods related to what are causing problem,
This fix is my top wanted i don't plan putting it aside
I appreciate anyone's help
Solution is to use the latest version of Skyrim, or a ported version of my mod (check the sticky).
p.s Sorry. I just got really tired of having to reassemble my build over and over again.
