Wow. I haven't visited Narrative Loot for a while. Since my last release, it has more than tripled in popularity. It used to be quiet here!
It makes me so glad that so many people have gotten to experience the 3D models these artists have created. I believe some of the growing popularity is coming from more people learning the Wrye Bash tool. If you haven't used it yet, it is simpler than you might fear! It can also help you fix mod problems caused by overwriting loot and NPC lists.
Narrative Loot is a mod that I worked on a very long time ago, when I was expanding my modding and 3D skills. I aim to some day build it further! I still keep notes.
One aspect of Skyrim modding I would love to learn is the Radiant Quest system. Imagine a mod like Missives, but more integrated into the loot system. Perhaps you could find notes in chests mentioning artifacts. Or mentioning riches that other NPC's have, as radiant theft quests. That is where I would like to take the mod.
I would also like to enhance its core feature, which is the tremendous quantity of items. There are more and more 3D models available on Creative Commons every day, and it is often just a few steps to export one for Skyrim resolution and physics. Then I make it an Item, put it in a Loot List, and voila! Narrative Loot.
So I have some ideas. I will have to learn more still, but eventually I hope to revisit.
So, I actually have a Narrative Loot TCC Patch in my load order. MO2 is telling me that there is an update for it, however when I go to the mod page it has been deleted. I'm not sure if it's safe to leave it in my updated load order or whether I should delete it.
As someone who can spend hours decorating her homes (without positioner mods!), I love this mod. Looting is more rewarding now, and I finally have something to fill all the shelves in my multiple player homes. I've changed most of Lakeview with console commands (better furniture). But I lacked items for decorating besides potion bottles and gems. This mod really solved that problem. Lots of shiny objects (not garish!) that make Hearthfire homes look so much better.
The only problem I've encountered is some objects won't stay where I placed them even though I follow the usual rules (drop them, leave the house, save, load, go back inside). The open books, soul gem holders, and horn candles keep returning to the spot where I dropped them. I just have to drop them where I need them, but it's weird that all the other items are fine and these are not. (I don't want positioner mods, I love playing with Skyrim physics and placing things manually.)
Not sure if you still check this, but I absolutely love your mod!!! I'm collecting items of different sets and displaying them using the interact mod and it looks so cool! Wish I could send you some pics! This is own of my fav mods, especially since I love decorating houses in ESO! I can spend hours rearranging the items from your mod!!
How such incompability this mod for firstly, heavy-sized assembly (with 3K-4K active plugins) and secondly, for 2023 year? Cos last update happen in 2020... I scared what it can break my game.
I just want to say this is one of the mods I need to have in the game because Skyrim feels way too much like the other providences don't even exist compared to other elder scrolls games. Also I do have a question, there are so many different types of dishes and items that would make the world seem more alive and colorful and the resource in which the random dishes came from seems to be missing, any plans to use base object swapper to put the different dishes in the respective Skyrim holds? Or to replace any other items in game?
Textures/clutter/TF_MWClutter/mw_glass.dds Textures/clutter/TF_MWClutter/mw_silver.dds Both of these seem to be problematic texture files. Can't be opened or optimized...Anyone else?
Sorry for responding to a two month old post, but can confirm that these two textures are indeed bad and should to be replaced. The meshes for this mod also should to be run through SSE NIF Optimizer to be properly ported from LE.
For those who use LOTD, would recommend packing this mod into a BSA using Cathedral Assets Optimizer, so the loose files aren't' overwriting the paintings in LOTD (or any replacer you might be using), even if you are using the LOTD patch.
