2017-10-25 New version is up and it requires PapyrusUtil SE. Thanks to exiledviper. Hypothermia Plus SSE now has
- all of the features of oldrim Hypothermia Plus, - a 'debug mode' that can be set via 'Information tab' of the MCM menu, - is prepared for upcoming RealShelter SSE (sadly no response from ThreeTen yet), - is prepared for upcoming iNeeds and RND integration.
Some notifications (especially those appearing right after loading a savefile) that some of you found to be bothersome, will only appear in debug mode now.
2017-10-09 Hi folks, alpha version of Hypothermia Plus SSE is up. This version is unsupported. If you have already installed SKSE64 there is no reason to not also install and try out Hypothermia Plus SSE. Otherwise keep in mind that "alpha" versions are meant for testing, in this case: testing of SKSE64. Without people using alpha versions of SKSE64 dependent mods, SKSE64 will most likely stay in alpha status forever.
Please do not hesitate to file bug reports, even if you are not sure whether your findings are related to Hypothermia Plus and it using SKSE64. I really appreciate any reports, though I will not comment on every report.
RealShelter SSE RealShelter marks sheltered areas. With RealShelter installed, Hypothermia will know whenever you are sheltered (e.g. under a bridge). When you are sheltered, you do not get wet when it is raining.
What you need:
1. Creation Kit for SSE 2. My DIY-Kit (look under optional files) with completely new scripts
What you have to to:
The really easy part: 1. Download the latest oldrim version of Real Shelter 2. Create a new subdirectory 'data' on your desktop 3. Unzip the file 'RealShelter.esp' from the archive into the newly created subdirectory 'data' - we do not need ANYTHING else from the RealShelter archive! 4. Unzip the complete 'scripts' folder from my DIY-Kit into the newly created subdirectory 'data' 5. Zip this 'data' folder into a new archive, e.g. RealShelterSSE.zip (name doesn't matter) 6. Install the new archive RealShelterSSE.zip with your favorite mod manager.
The Creation Kit part: 1. Start the Creation Kit 2. From the Creation Kit menu bar select 'File', then 'Data' -> a new window opens where you can select plugins 3. From these plugins select RealShelter.esp by left-clicking once on it, then click the bar 'Set as Active File' 4. Click 'ok' -> now Skyrim and RealShelter are loaded and validated. 5. When warning and error messages occur (this is normal), always click on the *rightmost* option. Do NOT care about how this option is called, because its localization is misleading. 6. Wait until loading and validating is finished 7. From the menu bar select 'File', then 'Save' 8. Close Creation Kit. You're done.
I suggest to copy the 'resaved' RealShelter.esp into your archive RealShelterSSE.zip (or whatever you named it). This way you can always reinstall RealShelterSSE without having to resave the plugin in Creation Kit again.
Heads up. This mod has a very minor issue with mods that add better 3rd person loot selection like for example Better Third Person Selection - BTPS. It seems that Hypothermia adds some kind of item (HYTCellMarker) right at your feet to track your current cell for Hypothermia events? Normally you don't see this because you need to have your crosshair on the item you wish to loot but with BTPS you can view all loot around your character so the Hypothermia item is always visible to you.
ugh i read this comment before seeing it, and now i can't unsee it but at least i know where it's from. i might get rid of btps in that case, or go with a different cold mod...
Wonderful mod, thank you. Given the advent of mods like Seasons Of Skyrim and Unfrozen, is there any chance this will be updated to take into account seasons, please?
Not sure if anyone will respond but have a bit of an issue. I started unpacking and only a few unpacked and my power went out for a moment and it didn't finish. So now when I start it it's pretty much empty and very few things are popping up under my plugin list, I can't uninstall it and redownload or I will lose all my mods. My question is how do I get it to unpack after it thinks it down from getting canceled out?
I wondering has anyone tried this with last seed instead of Sunhelm? I'm thinking of testing it, since Last Seed offers i think more for food and diseases than Sunhelm. Might be wrong.
Not compatible with True Stroms? Currently freezing to death inside and inn next to the big log fire, during a rain shower. According to the mod info tab I am not sheltered.
I know I'm late but I'm curious if Real Shelter is still needed in Skyrim AE? From my visual it seems that rains and snow does not pass through celling structure (bridges, gates,...) but I don't know if Hypothermia could dectect it too?
Hmm, it´s working with SSE 1.6.x, at least for me.
The problem you wrote about some time ago (saturation 900%) is probably related to a bug that occurs when your char is sleeping while saturation is > 0. This bug gets fixed with the recent 2nd hotfix (under "optional files"). After installing the hotfix, let your character sleep for a couple of hours, works for old saves, too.
I started a new game with hypothermia. At the beginning it seems to work but when I reach helgen it doesn't work anymore. It doesn't detect heat sources, it doesn't detect that I'm inside an inn, I can't modify some things in the MCM, etc. I prefer hypothermia to survival mode and I use it together with sunhelm (disabling the "cold" function).

under 'Misc.Item' select HYTCellMarker and right-click to remove the line at 'FULL - Name'
This way you can use both mods without trouble ;)

edit: NVM seems my install has serious issues.
I always liked this mod, especially the MCM.
Is there any plan to update this for AE?
