The mod is a lot of fun, but I went to high hrothgar and found 3 bodies. Just by doing this at the beginning of the game, I became a millionaire. Their loot could more modest in my opinion.
I agree. If you look a little lower down the comments, you'll see bientje. He edited the esp to only include a few bodies, basically ones with lore behind it. This makes it more believable and not worry about getting rich so quickly.
No human has ever been frozen solid and brought back to life, that's just false, and currently impossible as the formation of ice crystals inside our cells completely destroys them, hence frostbite. A better reason to resurrect people here would be necromancy, because this is a fantasy universe after all.
The mod is lovely and very immersive. I have to make just a single remark. All these corpses seem to come from individuals that were naked at the time of their deaths. It would be more credible if they were equipped with a kind of armor like one of the vanilla game or one of the mods very well known and used, like Immersive or Amidianborn. Don't you think? I also think that the creation of such figures could be a very interesting exercise for using tools like blender or the one you're using. If I were you I should start with a complete armored charachter, then I would merge all the meshes to reach a final mesh that includes all the armor pieces over the body, I will also reduce the polygons and then apply the texture that you're using, that seems to me very interesting. Just some ideas....
i disagree that it would be more believable if they all had clothes or armour. it's very common for people to remove their clothes in the final stages of hypothermia, but the reason doesn't seem to be well-understood. i do like your idea though, because some of these people may have been killed and their bodies left where they fell.
The reason why some people in hypothermia strip off their clothes is that it causes a feeling of overheating as if they were in full sun. But it seems a very rare occurrence. I.e. the corpses of the South Pole explorers expeditions who were found after a long time were fully clothed. A nice addon should be to see corpses like that of Oetsi warrior, found on the Alps some time ago, with an arrow in his back. Another reason of being naked is that they have been expoliated of their goods, but in this case there shouldn't be any loot in them.
So far I've only found one corpse, outside a dungeon that is often visited early in the game... but I'm here because DynDOLOD is telling me that there's a mesh missing:
?Warning: File not found Meshes\clutter\petrifiedcorpses\satchel.nif. Used by frozenintime.esp 0123Satchelextra "Adventurer's Satchel" [CONT:FE1F585B] Now, there's a vanilla mesh \clutter\satchel.nif, so I guess I can edit the path in the plugin to point to that. Just mentioning it here, in case it helps you or anyone else.
Holy crap. I can't believe after all these years I forgot those. xD That's pretty ridiculous. I added a file that links several missing meshes to prevent issues. Thanks for the comment!
I cleaned this mod with autoclean and then manually, removing some uncessary world space edits.
Furthermore, 42 frozen bodies is just too much, so I decided to remove all bodies except the 6 named NPC's that have a little story behind them: https://www.mediafire.com/file/7x3biot0foez0yz/frozenintime.esp/file
WARNING: this means the number of 'frozen bodies' is reduced A LOT. Consider my version an ultra lite version.
After some time with this mod I must say it is ... just amazing.
Have only found 4 frozen bodies, one of them In a very ... interesting place with an added backstory that made me feel empathic for the poor outcast riften thief that decided to end her life.
FInding the body frozen with some equipment on it was a touching moment.

Totally worth it.
