Foreword and Forewarning
First, let me say that this mod is a work in progress, but, with me being a teacher and school starting back soon, I am going to have much less time to learn how to mod going forward. This will be updated eventually, but there is no telling when that will be. In the meantime, everyone here has blanket permission to make any changes they want to this, so long as they give me a shout out.
Why make this Mod?
I have always loved dragon riders across all fantasy that I have partaken. I wanted to create a role-play friendly way for the Dragonborn to become one by founding their own faction of Riders. Further, this mod reduces the genocide aspects of the game by approximately 20%!
What does it do?
Simple! It changes some dialogue options during the Paarthurnax quest to not only spare Paarthurnax, but to also have Paarthurnax pledge some of the dragons that have seek to study the Way of the Voice under him to help the Blades in their endeavors to kill all the dragons that seek to dominate humans. His goal in this pledge is to make the Blades learn to trust dragons, and to have the dragons learn to not seek domination of mortal races.
During the following quest, where you bring followers to join the Blades, it gives them a new agility that lets them summon a dragon to aide in combat. This dragon has been, via script, removed from the Dragon faction and added to the Blades faction, so it doesn't attack random innocent people. After a good amount of time, the dragon disappears.
Issues/ Future Goals
When a member of the Blades summons a dragon, it spawns directly on top of them before taking flight. When the dragon disappears, it does so immediately. I will, eventually, figure out how to make both of these happen off screen, so as to not break imersion.
After that, I want to add a word wall perch to Skyhaven Temple and have Odhaviing sit atop it.
Finally, make the Blades followers stop talking about killing all dragons.
