hello friend. humble suggestion for know your enemy 2 patch lite compatible. since they conflict. but all up to you. I think both go together perfectly for hunting feel.
Looks like it requires an update, the Untarnished UI Patch for the bestiary also had to update for the changes. With outdated UI it looks like it gives a CTD when you close the menu.
Something probably changed with the action script in the original swf that is required for version 1.4 of TDB.
Your version is by far my favorite UI, absolutely love the "journal" look you've made.
Looks like if you're using any variation of SkyUI and/or Dear Diary, without a patch from them, this mod crashes to desktop every single time you close the Bestiary menu. Such a shame. I really wanted to use this.
Are you using the KYE 2 patch? That has been determined to be the cause of the ctd when closing the bestiary. The author said a fix will be coming tomorrow thankfully.
I'm not familiar with the KYE 2 patch. At least, I don't think I am, what does that stand for? Forgive me, I'm getting up there in age and haven't tried modding Skyrim in awhile, so this could be a me problem.
I can verify that it only crashes, though, if I'm using Dear Diary. Removing Dear Diary stopped the CTD.
No worries, I'm talking about the patch for Know Your Enemy 2 to work with the bestiary. I was getting CTDs like you when closing the bestiary because of said mod. Its fixed now though. And that's strange, I also have Dear Diary but have no problems. Hopefully it all gets fixed soon!
OOHHH it's a dear diary conflict, I could have sworn it was the newest version of the bestiary. I'm having the same crash when you close the menu, but it wasn't crashing prior to the bestiary switching to being a pure SKSE mod.
That's interesting though... I wish I knew more about how to investigate swf file issues like this. I'm curious now on the specifics of the crash.
Its a great concept however the textures are a little blurry (as you can see in top left of the UI) and the writing can be difficult on the eyes since its white on a light colored background whereas the original UI is white on a black background.
Are you able to make a version with black font instead of white?
I have to agree. I like the look of this as I use a paper style ui but the white font is hard to look at. I was thinking a dark grey or maybe black font
Thank you for your comment. I understand that the white font is difficult to read, and I have already attempted to change it to grey or black, or to add a black outline before upload this. However, simply changing the color or adding an outline in ffedc did not resolve the issue. It seems that the fonts for the categories and descriptions may not be changing because they are based on the game font.
Alternatively, I may have needed to use Adobe Animate instead of ffdec for these modifications. However, when I attempted to use Adobe Animate, I found that I would need to precisely add each animation script or it won't work in game properly, which was beyond my ability as an amateur. Even now, I am still looking for ways to change the font color, but modifying SWF files, which are no longer supported, presents significant challenges. I will also look into updating the textures if I can find higher quality images.

- Changed category and description font color white to black
- New texture applied
Ver 1.2
- Fixed CTD When your TDB version is 1.4
It should works too :)

Especially since there is no dear diary patch

Unfortunately, I like Dear Diary more.

I wish it would get fixed. This fits Dear Diary really, really well.
