Thank you for this, their antlers looked so ugly compared to elks

I don't mean to nitpick but what you've done is taken real life accurate reindeer/caribou antlers and transformed them into elk antlers. And not the vanilla skyrim elk which is also fucked up because the females for some reason have whitetail deer antlers when they should have no antlers.

Not to be mean, but this is such an odd mod. It replaces the Reindeer (Caribou) antlers with American Elk antlers...a completely different animal that has extremely different antler shape.

If you want to be more realistic, just rename the animal to Reindeer, it was already anatomically correct. Probably the only reason it isn't already named Reindeer in vanilla is to avoid the Santa Claus connotation.

*shrugs* I work with what I've got.  I scoured the internet for months looking for a decent reindeer/caribou antler mesh, but I'm not a mesh artist, and I can't afford the software necessary to texture a blank mesh.  The only ones I could find weren't in any shape for me to able to make them game-ready - it's likely the reason FrankBlack never completed the set himself. But I really wanted some antlers that actually looked like antlers, so in the end, I grabbed one that at least covered the same space as the originals (and boy oh boy, but it took some work to get that mesh into a tolerable state.)

The only reason "more realistic" is in the title is because that's the name of the mod series I was trying to complete.  They're not more accurate - I know they're not.

If you don't like them, you don't have to use them.  I still hope to one day find that holy grail of an intact, workable reindeer antler scan.  Until then, we've got the elk antlers for those who like them.

Would you be willing to upload an optional replacer for the vanilla Small Antlers ingredient using these meshes? (meshes/clutter/ingredients/smallantlers.nif)

For those of us who use a mods to remove the antlers from the female elk (there's more than one) for the sake of realism---as the female megaloceros that Skyrim's "elk" are based on do not have antlers---the "small antlers" usually drop from the "deer"/caribou instead, since the "large antlers" use the male "elk" model.

Either way, this is a big quality improvement from the vanilla antler meshes and textures Thanks for sharing!

Hi there, would it be possible to make a carcass that matches this model for Carry your Carcasses (Fluffworks version is what I'd really need)?  I appreciate your time!

Waiting on permissions for the patch atm.  But just warning you now, there isn't a Fluffworks version for the reindeer mesh from CYC at present, and I am not currently capable of creating one myself.  (The blood feud I have with Blender isn't going well.)

Thanks for the reply!  Not super worried about the fluff as I find the horn shape much more noticeable. Your efforts at slaying the beast are not unappreciated, lol!

    Hello,
I love your mod but it's incompatible with the patch between immersive horses and Saturlia CC

The reindeers in game are fine but the reindeer that you can ride with saturlia cc cause the issue.
with the patch ( i use fluffywork) the reindeer has no antlers and his "pelage" is fluffy but not where the saddle should be (he has no saddle but i can put wathever saddle i want). I hope you undertand the issue.

    It's this mod : https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27357?tab=files

Thanks for your report!  It actually wasn't a problem with Immersive Horses at all, but the base reindeer mesh I had up (oops!)  It should be all fixed now - I tested it with both versions of the Immersive horses patch.

HOWEVER, the problem with the "pelage" not fitting the shape of alternate saddles is baked into the mod.  It's shaped specifically for the reindeer saddle from CC: Saturalia, any other saddle likely will not fit the shape of the fuzzy.  If you really wanted, you could replace the texture from Pelage - CC Saturalia Addon with whatever Fluffworks texture you're using for your regular reindeer, but be warned - the fluff may clip through your saddles!

I replaced the texture in pelage cc addon with fluffyworks but the deer is purple...
I just replace the texture not meshes.

Edit : Nevermind, i didn't see that the name don't match, I changed the name to what it was in pelage cc addon and it just works.

As stated in the description, I'm waiting on permissions for the Fluffworks patch - the mod doesn't have open permissions.  As soon as I hear back from Macxhiin, I'll upload a patch, don't worry.

That might take a bit - the Saturalia reindeer is in fact a very different shape than the regular reindeer, to fit the tack as well as the horse skeleton it's mapped to.  No one's made a Fluffworks patch for it yet, so I'd have to do the shell effect myself, which I currently have no idea how to do.  So it might take me a bit to figure it out, if I do it at all.  Sorry!

I believe there are guides/references linked on the original shell-texturing mod for Skyrim, Fusa Fusa, by Vicn If that helps.
