This was inspired by the M'rissi's salon of fluffy styles by EscondeR.

I noticed that the face shape for furry M'rissi was different than the non-furry and I prefer that face shape. I think it fits her character better with her storyline. EscondeR's mod does not respect the furry face shape, so I made a hair replacer for furry M'rissi using KS Hairdo's Within a Dream hair.

I probably won't take requests, but if you want to replace M'rissi's hair with another using any hair and hairline mesh, here is a simple guide.

Thing's needed:
NifSkope
Outfit Studio
KS Hairdo's
M'rissi's Tails of Troubles

1) Go to \meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom\MrissiTailOfTroubles.esp folder in M'rissi's Tails of Troubles.

2) Open 0000AA19.NIF in Outfit Studio.

3) Check the names of the hairline and hair meshes. In my case they were MRTMrissiRHairFemaleNord02Mod and MRTMrissiRHairLineFemaleNord02Mod. Keep these in mind for later.

4) In Outfit Studio delete the old hair and hairline by right clicking and selecting delete for both.

5) Go to File -> Import -> From NIF... and import both the hair NIF and the hair line NIF. In my case it was WithinaDream.NIF and WithinaDreamHL.nif

6) Don't bother transforming or scaling, the way it looks, however weird is fine, at least in my case. Rename both the hair and hairline meshes to the names you noted down earlier by right clicking each and clicking Rename... Also, it cant hurt to right click both and set the name in Properties... to that as well, but I'm not sure this is necessary.

7) Create a folder on your desktop or wherever, something like MrissiNewHair and inside this folder make a \meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom\MrissiTailOfTroubles.esp folder director just like in the original. I recommend copying from the original to speed this up.

8) In Outfit Studio go to File -> Export -> To NIF... and export it as 0000AA19.NIF to the MrissiTailOfTroubles.esp folder you just created. Make absolutely certain you are exporting to the right place.

9) Optional/just for observation: If you open the ORIGINAL M'rissi's Tails of Troubles 0000AA19.NIF in NifSkope you will notice that all the head meshes including the hair are under one group. I think this is important. This is my first time ever working with head meshes, but I think it's best to keep the NIF structure the same as the original.

10) Open your NEW 0000AA19.NIF that you just exported in a new NifSkope window. Notice how the hair and hairline meshes are not in the proper group as described in the previous step. Right click each mesh, hair and hairline, and click Block -> Copy.

11) Then right click the proper group they are supposed to be in and click Block -> Paste. Each should go into the proper group. Make sure you do them in numbered order, not sure if this is important though.

12) Delete the original hair and hairline meshes by right clicking and clicking Block -> Remove.

13) In the top bar of NikSkope go to File -> Save As and replace the NEW 0000AA19.NIF that you created earlier with this modified one. Do not click Save because I'm not sure if NikScope remembers directories perfectly, best to have maximum control and make sure of what you're doing. So make sure you use Save As. Also, let it sanitize the names if it gives you a warning.

14) You are done! You can now take the MrissiNewHair folder, send it to a .zip, and install it with Vortex or your favorite mod manager. Or you can install it manually, it's up to you.

This guide will probably work on any npc, mod, any mod manager, and any hair and hairline mesh.

Enjoy!
