About this mod

This mod distributes a variety of conjuration spells from the creation club and DLC to NPCs in Skyrim using the Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) framework. With this mod, Warlocks, Necromancers, and select bandits across Skyrim will have access to a range of summoning spells, making encounters more challenging and immersive.

How Conjuration Spell Distribution Is Balanced

This mod is carefully balanced to ensure that the spells distributed to NPCs do not make them overpowered. The balance is achieved using a few mechanisms:

  • Skill Level Segmentation: Spells are distributed based on the NPCs' Conjuration skill levels (Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Expert, Master). This ensures that only NPCs who have achieved specific skill levels will receive the corresponding spells, maintaining a natural balance in spell distribution.
  • Percentage Chances: Each spell distribution has an associated percentage chance, which determines how likely an NPC is to receive that spell. These chances ensure that not every NPC will have access to the spells, adding variety and maintaining balance in gameplay. This also means that even common spells will not be seen too frequently, as NPCs who surpass the skill level for these spells will not receive them.
  • Faction Restriction:  Perks are distributed in a thematic and lore friendly way. Only NPCs from the Warlock, Necromancer, Forsworn and select Bandit factions gain access to these spells.

These measures work together to integrate the spells into the game in a balanced and lore-friendly manner, enhancing the challenge without breaking the game's difficulty curve.

Recommendations

My intention in creating this mod was to make my own game feel more dynamic by adding more randomness to combat encounters. Here are some other mods that carry on in this same vein.

Fortunate Foes - Covers enemies not covered in this mod. Gives each enemy NPC a small chance to be great.
Enchanted Items For NPCs - Gives NPCs a chance to gain an enchanted item it can use to boost it's stats.
New Age of Enemy Magic - I don't know how this mod effects the chances that an NPC will use the conjuration spells from this mod, but this is a good mod to help further vary mage combat, regardless.
