    Sorry for the repeated updates, and thanks for bearing with me.

    Version 1.2 should finally fix the problem of Madness and Amber Ores appearing in chests. As before, requires a new game to take effect.

    I realize this will 'partially' work on a running game. What will it do if a quest related to this content has started already?

    The quest is for fishing as I remember and no S&S quests have started. I remember some comments about fishing, so not sure it would apply here.

      Tbh, if you've actually started any of the quests, I wouldn't recommend installing this. Power through them first. All of the items/NPC/locations you need to continue/complete the quests will disappear, leaving them unfinishable and stuck in your quest log forever. If that doesn't bother you, of course, go for it. The other method would be to look up the quest stages on UESP or somewhere and use the console to just auto-complete them.

      EDIT: Sorry, I mean for the S&S quests. This mod doesn't touch the Fishing quest or anything else from that addon (so far, I've actually made another plugin which does the same as this mod for Fishing too, just haven't had a chance to properly test it yet - Fishing is a bit more complex since it makes many more worldspace changes and interacts with Hearthfire etc.)

    reposting part of my comment on another comment...

    Q: I have a mod that remodels armors and clothing to um skimpier versions and the armors, etc. from S&S are part of that. Do you
    think your update removing the ores will bork up that other mod?
    I'm not concerned about whether or not I can up-temper those armors; they don't appeal to me even when skimpified.

      Right, sorry, missed your comment before. Yes, that shouldn't be a problem. All the items still exist in the plugin (just prevented from appearing in the world), so it won't break other patches like that.

    still found few madness ore in boss chests even after new game, except of it everything alright as far as I can see. Anybody faced that or its only my modlist problem?

      That shouldn't be happening, unless you have another mod (or more likely a patch for S&S) that's overriding this mod's changes to the quest that triggers at game start. Checking your modlist in xEdit would be best. Pretty much all S&S patches from other mods can (and probably should) be removed when using this mod, or at the very least this mod's esp should be loaded after all of them.

      yeah, I was abot 99.9% sure that problem is on my side. And I dont know what, I only edit boss chests with my own minifix to replace varla and welkynd stones, no scripts, no creations patches. Maybe another creations like alternative armor triggered something, I dont know. But most strange that its only madness ore, no amber, armor or other S&S stuff.

      But I can handle if my Dovahkiin find some strange ore and dont know what to do with it

      I'm having the same issue, rarely I will find a random madness ore sitting inside a loot chest.

      1. The plugin is near the bottom of my load order and checking in xEdit nothing is overwriting it
      2. Checked in xEdit whether any other plugin is referencing the madness ore item, madness ore/ingot form list or leveled list, they're only being referenced in either the S&S plugin itself or USSEP (I'm using the USSEP version of the plugin)
      3. Checked if any of my mods are using SKSE plugins such as Container Item Distributor, FormList Manipulator etc. to sneak in S&S content, nothing found

      What gives?

      Just found a piece of amber in a chest (new playthrough). I've been using this mod for a while now, and never had that happen before. Strange.

      I'm really not sure to be honest. Obviously I still use this myself, and I haven't found seen any of the items or ores sneaking in in my own games. The quest that adds those ores to the leveled lists shouldn't activate at all with this mod (again, if nothing is overwriting it). To clarify, "new game" means "completely new game", like fresh launch -> "New Game" from the menu screen. A fallback save in the starting cell or anything like that is too late - all those background utility quests initialize as soon as the game begins.

      I'll keep an eye on it, though.

      I too have been finding both madness and amber ore in chests, testing with new game and only this mod and USSEP. Using the 'no ores in chests' mod from here seems to fix it and be compatible with this mod.

      Not the biggest issue but still nice to be able to remove everything none the less. Figured may help others or even point to why this happens. Thank you again for sharing your mods with us!

      Thanks for this, I had a look at it.

      I guess my understanding of how the Amber and Madness Smithing "quest" worked wasn't right after all. I didn't think nuking that quest was necessary as it was waiting for a trigger from the main S&S quest (which I disabled) - but apparently I was wrong.

      I uploaded an update for both versions that should hopefully fix this now. Unfortunately, again, due to the way the CC scripts work this will only take effect on a new game. Really sorry this took so long (and that I was so stubborn that it wasn't my fault, lol)

      Ooooh... so that's what's up. DL'd this excellent mod, but kept finding the ores. Not an issue, I just sell or drop them, but it would be nice to not have them cluttering things up.

      Just found 1 madness ore in bleak falls (ussep version, fresh playthrough) so I guess it's still happening.

      I have a wild suggestion. Since this bug seems to be so difficult to eliminate, maybe you should just embrace it by unlocking the crafting recipes from S&S by default and tying them to ebony/daedric smithing instead of trying to get rid of the ores themselves. It would make the ores at least somewhat useful and not just junk items for selling, and if some other mod requires the new ingots in recipes, you could still run it alongside this mod without issues. The main reason I am using your mod is the fact that it removes the S&S quest and these annoying camps that attack me and random roaming npc and caravans. I don't really have issues with S&S items. More armor/weapon variety in Skyrim is always good imo.

      Not a bad idea, but would be better as part of a mod series that incorporates the CC content into the base game more naturally (like Requiem with the CC armors, or this mod maybe, and I'm sure there are a bunch of others) - my interest with this mod however is to simply disable the content altogether in as "clean" and compatible a way as possible.

      I've uploaded one more version. It incorporates the exact change found in the patch on this page, and I've tested that it works in game (new game, made a separate mod with a custom chest in the middle of Riverwood with 100 copies of the leveled list in question - no ore to be seen). I still don't understand why this specific change was needed from my last version, but this should at least finally put the problem to bed.

    I installed it midgame (before the quest starts though) and there are no more camps and Ri'saad has nothing to say to me about being harassed anymore, and not more stupid notes. What a relief. Did not play very long yet with this mod so I cannot say yet whether everything is gone now but I am already so happy that whole bandit stuff is gone. 

    I also downloaded Disable Free Creation Club Content so no more stupid fishing stuff everywhere either, I love it. Already had another mod that got rid of the survival mode popup, but this mod fixes that as well, so my game is finally back to where it should be. Can recommend!

      I love you. Well, not love you but I am very fond of your link to disable CC mods. If I wanted those mods, I'd have downloaded those mods.

      Yes, it is forced on us. I tried it out pre-AE and it wasn't what I wanted so I dropped it from my LO. Then came along AE and Bethesda trying to bolster CC mod sales (yes, they ARE mods, even if we are forced to have them). I'm just glad this mod exists so I don't have to put up with the CC mod. Now, if only I could get rid of the rest of the CC mods I've been forced to have and don't want like fishing. Heck, in RL when I 'fish', I only have a sinker and a bobber, no hook ... unless I'm going for salmon.

    Thank you! The original mod didn't remove everything, so even on a new game there were abrupt ground texture changes where objects used to be, and it just looked like bugged textures. Your version truly removes all traces of the saint/seducer camps, much appreciated!!!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!  I don't really mind the other 3 CC packs that came with the AE "upgrade" but this one just bugs me to no end.  It just doesn't fit with the rest of the game and it boggles my mind that someone thought it would be a good idea to force everyone to play with it.

    Do i need to download this mod for a fresh playthrough? I've completed the quests S&S came with, and i still have random golden and seducer bandits attacking me.

      Of the 4 free CC addons? Everything, potentially. If there's interest, I could make a similar plugin for CC Fishing as well pretty easily (disabling the quest and removing all the worldspace additions).

      (EDIT: Although, fwiw, I do use CC Fishing myself. With mods like Jay's Fishing Overhaul and a few others it's pretty tolerable).
