This is the only version of RDO I'm planning on uploading for Skyrim Special Edition (SSE), barring any game-breaking bugs. The only "updates" I may release are patches for conflicting mods that get updated for SSE. (The only other exception is if both SKSE and SkyUI are updated to work with SSE)
In truth, how RDO ended up is not like my original intentions. Without getting into the specifics, just know that this was supposed to be a resource for other modders, with various other options intended for users. Well, it all ended up getting squashed into a single plugin with a few patches. Not at all how I originally intended it to be. So, I've decided to actually create the mod(s) I originally wanted. It'll take me a while, with real life and other potential modding obligations, but I've learned a lot when working on RDO that I didn't know when I first started the project in December of 2015, which will be of great benefit.
Hopefully you all have enjoyed using RDO over the last few months, and I truly appreciate the amount of support that all of you have shown for the mod. It really does mean a lot!
Yes, I'm aware that iAFT and AFT have been uploaded for SSE. I'll work on updating the patches and release them as soon as I've confirmed that they're working. Just give me some time.
Edit: There is seemingly an issue where mods from Skyrim Legendary Edition (SLE) are causing save game corruption in Special Edition (SE), if they were not saved in the new 64-bit CK for SE. This is the case for, most likely, a large number of mods available right now for SE.
RDO is NOT one of those mods. It was saved in the CK for SE, and is safe to use.
Sorry for the absence this past month. There have been personal issues, along with university studies, that have been taking up most of my time. Now that the fall semester is over, I'll hopefully be able get back into modding more and provide better support (let's face it - I haven't done a very good job with that).
I'm also greatly considering another update to RDO (yes, I know, that contradicts what I previously said. As well as the name of the current version...). There are a few other vanilla audio bugs and some users requests that I would be including. I'm also possible looking into adding in-game configuration options (to replace the MCM from classic Skyrim) through a lesser power, or NPC dialogue.
Regarding the Xbox One version: I'm working on an update for both the PC and Xbox versions. So I will make the Xbox version available again once the update is finished.
The patch for RDO and EFF cannot be activated -- files the patch needs are not present; i have rechecked everything twice because I won't use any spying mod organizer and I have everything your site lists as required so I can only assume that EFF was updated and this patch wasnt. Loot tells me there will be an issue so I removed EFF. Your mod is my preferred choice.
Hi! No doubt you´ve done a lot of work. But if your videos were meant to persuade me to download your mod, they did the very opposite. You erracically move the camera left/right/up/down, showing hardly any extra dialogue except for enforcing unfriendly NPC beeing friendly which, in my oppinion, breaks the concept of the game.
Did you by chance look at the last update's date? Things have changed a little bit since 2018. I suspect that if your comment was meant to inspire the mod author to return to fiddling with this, it did the very opposite.
From a worldwide known Modder of 30 years... Baakay is 100% correct. Most of my commenters are VERY positive... but comments like this is why I quit wasting my time modding for other people...
Excellent mod, but unfortunately it shows its age as it is dated and times are moving on, and I had to disable it because of the latest updates in the engine fine-tuning if you have serious play through it's actually inhibiting itself when you speak to the npc's, solving certain quests as you looking into newer mods. Looks like it needs to be repackaged, updated. Sry..just like some other mods also needs to be revisited.
Doesn't matter anymore for now..I need to quit, cannot do test runs as I try to update certain parts in the engine, and it leads to crap..I prolly remove everything and wait for IAN and the guys to straighten out SKSE first, get proper engine fixes and reassemble everything and start a new..maybe.. I'm tired of Beth playing with ppl..
altean I do understand what you mean , in fact RDO is long gone , and I do not even understand why people keep adding this mod as a dependency when it is clear that is outdated ad stop following the game improvements that came out during its live spam ... There are a lot of mods even more simple in this approach that are much more efficient in what this mod does ... As for opinions , they are what they are different points of view , but if people keep using mods from 2018 sooner or later will regret that , and altean , don't mind the usual trolling that comes inherent to any post we do in this site , it seems there are people that need to seek confrontation or this areas and forums to feel important ...So back on topic ...I agree with you it is far past its live spam this RDO Mod ...
at the beginning of the names of the mods there is a dollar in MCM 1) does this mean that the mod does not work? 2) and how to fix it if this is the case?
I sincerely apologize if this question has already been asked or if it is an extremely stupid question
Hope someone here may have advice; I have a couple old followers w/ great uniq voices. They don’t have a custom framework, but use the standard follower system. And their voiced lines are worked into the vanilla dialog topics. Stuff they say when u wanna trade, tell them to do something, ect. Seems there’s quite a lot of conflict w/ their lines and what RDO changes. They’re loaded high and I don’t want to load them below rdo in the chance that might mess up rdo (plus I’m midgame and don’t want to change load order).
Can I patch them to work along w/ RDO? I’ve done patches but not w/ dialog. Can I just add their conditions (some seem to be ACHR), and drag their lines in a patch along w/ rdo conditions? Maybe add their voicetypes to rdo formlists? Any advice appreciated!
