I've pushed this vice even further thanks to the root builder, you can even have all the base root files (skyrim exe/launchers dlls) installed as a mod and just have an empty folder where MO2 is going to assemble everything
That's only because, as I said on the additional notes, I am modding the 1.5.97 version of the game, and I added the data folder from the Anniversary edition as a mod (thanks to Backported Extended ESL) since I have a whole data folder from an updated version of skyrim installed as a mod (and it's quite low priority), it's being overwritten by everything else. Basically a bunch of my mods have that blue thunderbolt telling me I'm overwriting that, in short it's nothing to be concerned about.

I was also wonder how you got the mod list to show the master file icon and the blue thunderbolt?
