A patch for Witcher Horse Expansion's summon-able steed's to be more in line with Mysticism as well as re distribute some of the unique horses in a more immersive fashion.

This mod ONLY changes the summonable magic horses, it makes no edits to vanilla horses or any of the other unique horses in the world from Witcher Horse Expansion.

I really like Witcher Horse Expansion, especially the support it has for various mods and the huge diversity of colors it adds. While the heart and soul of the mod in my opinion was the "standard" horses throughout the world, I did love the various badass unique summonable horses, so I decided to make this patch to make them more immersive to acquire and use.

The thing with the summons was they made base game summons such as Arvak and the Daedric horse somewhat useless, as well as Mysticism's spectral steed. They cost 0 magicka as well as last for an unlimited amount of time, which I wanted to bring more in line with mysticism. Also the leveled list integration made them too easy to acquire in my opinion.

For a final point, I did feel like there was some horse inflation happening. Especially with the CC content, having all of these horses around was great of course but I wanted the summonable unique ones to truly feel like a reward like Arvak or Shadowmere. So I removed a few of them which I felt were redundant or just didn't fit. For consistency I also removed the summoning sigil thingies around the world, so that these unique reward horses could only be used the proper way.

The following is a summary of tweaks:

  • Summoning spells and their tomes changed to be inline with Mysticism (cost, duration, effects, animations, etc)
  • Removed spells from leveled lists
  • Removed summoning activators
  • Removed config spell
  • Unique tomes distributed to relevant vanilla locations to be discovered

The following is a list of the unique summons which were retained and where to acquire their spell tomes. A few had their names and flavor texts altered to match their new acquisition location:
