i'm having a mental skill issue and struggling to understand the wording of this mod. the settings in the FOMOD say 'use custom body/head texture'. when it says use custom texture, does it mean;
the texture provided by the npc mods (so ticking this option disables installed RSV skins)
the texture provided by RSV (so ticking this option enables installed RSV skins)
i want to use npc mods' head textures, and RSV body textures, and i'm unsure which options i should tick to achieve that. apologies for being a bit thick.
Just select and use a custom head texture. This mod was primarily designed for use with COtR (which uses a custom head texture), which is why it's worded that way. 'Use custom head texture' means the NPC(s) head texture will be excluded from RSV and will use whatever head texture the mod provides or the vanilla head texture. 'Use custom body texture' means the NPC's body will be excluded from RSV, and the NPC will use whatever body texture the mod provides or the vanilla body texture. This allows for more flexibility when using different COtR replacer as some don't come with BnP Skin texture and will require the body to be excluded from RSV (example, True Daughter of Skyrim Refined).
Thank you very much for this patch collection. I'm using your overhauls with Easy NPC and RSV without issue. Would you know if there any way to get RSV teeth distribution working for Ordinary People? Their included patch works for the skin and head, but all their teeth have a rotted red look and the teeth RSV patch doesn't work well like with your overhauls. Adding those specific NPCs to the teeth exclusion doesn't seem to work as well. If not, might just drop the teeth part of RSV but anyways, thanks again you are awesome!
Edit: Nevermind! I did not edit the distribution file correctly the first time. I do wish there was a patch for the teeth variation but at least I can settle for regular.
You dont need to use RSV teeth with my mods. I already implemented diverse teeth using BNP teeth textures. So each NPC depending on their role in society, age, etc.. have teeth that match.
Trying to make my custom "merged" patch because I'm using EasyNPC and a bunch of different overhauls and not all of them require patching.
Is it fine if the patch is 1 file?
Was thinking of this sort of lay-out: https://ibb.co/XfJZhYRJ Work in progress and need to manually add from Ash and Blood mods because there is no existing patch, but that's alright. Easy enough when EasyNPC is open and I filter on the facegen mods.
Also wondering why RSVignore2 as keyword and not just the regular RSVignore? I installed the "only head" for all those mods so might have something to do with that I guess?
I implemented RSVignore2 and RSVignore3 so the mod is more flexible. For example, with RSVignore2, I can now exclude RSV from triggering when touching an NPC’s head, but still allow it when touching the body. This way, I get the benefit of RSV distribution only on the body. I found that RSVignore remove RSV from touching NPCs' head and body, and I didn't want that.
To create your own patch, just install this mod and add only the editorid for NPCs you kept.
I'm pretty sure the Men of Skyrim Refined patch needs an update (maybe True sons of too). It's the random npcs like guards bandits and others that get a weird face when paired with RSV. Would you be so kind to give us an update?
I'm getting the bug where guards and some other male npcs have eyes on their foreheads and big noses. I believe the problem is either MOSR or TSOSR. I haven't found any of the named npcs bugged, just the random ones.
The TSOSR patch isn't compatible with the latest update, since RDG quitted again, could someone, please, take over this patch collection and at least update it for the latest True Sons of Skyrim Refined update?
I don't think there was any new NPCs added, so this version should work fine with the latest update for TSOSR. If you find any missing NPCs let me know.
I will in the future. I can do it faster if you provide the editor id since i dont use those mods right now. It's easy to make patches. Just open any of the files and add the npc editor id to the list following the same format.
They have pretty unique body textures but of course with RSV you miss out on them. Either way thanks for the work you've done here it's saved me a couple times :)
