This is just a small quick (and dirty :) edit on the .swf, not really worth of a mod page itself. You're free to add this as an optional download and I'd be honored to see it there. Just made it to fix an issue I had and shared it here in case some other fellow 32x9er would find it useful.
I ran into a small issue with being unable to close the menu with Esc although I'm unsure how to replicate it though. (may be caused due to using Auto Input Switch and having both KB+M and a Gamepad connected) I was unable to close it with the controller though.
EDIT: I just ran into this issue without a gamepad connected. Not sure what's up with that. EDIT2: After connecting the controller I was able to press Esc. If you're interested I'll test it more thoroughly and will let you know how to reproduce it.
I can now consistently exit the menu but another issue popped up unfortunately. It's not a big deal but if you use both controller and m+kb (with auto input switch) the cursor doesn't appear, making it impossible to edit hotkeys or view combos. I understand that this is an issue caused by another mod but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Thank you very much again for this, it'll truly elevate the experience of my modlist! <3
have the mod installed but I cant change anything. I cant click on the interface and change key name. Also, changing the hotkey from MCM did nothing, even after save and reload.
For the first issue, is "Disallow changing labels" options enabled? If so, you need to disable it (untick the option). The hotkey issue is weirder, please try changing it to another key and see if that works. Also try the mod on a brand new save, see how it works there.
I use a TKL KB (keyboard with no number pad; ten key less) PLUS a separate number pad keyboard. Why? I moved the separate number pad keyboard to the left of the TKL keyboard. It shifts the letter keys closer to the center (easier typing). It still leaves room for my mouse on the right, and I still have the number keys for extra hotkeys. It is awesome! But I don't know that this mod could include TKL keyboards (very common) or moveable keypads (admittedly less common).
Also, man, I wish there was a mod that could automatically figure out and list for you what your hotkeys are. I have many hotkeys on this large load order. I have documented them, but I may have missed some.
OK, I got a chance to try this. This is SO long overdue! Here are some thoughts; just thinking out loud...
-A TKL mode may be good as many gamers use them and you could make the keyboard larger, but I can live with this as is for now. -Many of us don't use a game pad so a way to remove that would be good. -I agree with the comments that a dark mode would be nice. In my environment darker keys with white lettering would be easier on my eyes. -I agree that the keyboard could be larger/fill up the screen more to allow better visibility/more space for the writing. -For the "everybody has a different mouse" issue, you could just have a text area next to the mouse that has mouse button labels...
-For the combos/modifiers, is there a way to just have two or three lines typed on a key? For example, the M key could have...
Map LCntrl-Horse
...telling the user that normally this is the map key, but if you hit left control, then it becomes the horse key (probably not the best example). Or if it's possible to do different colored font on the same key, color code the second/third lines to indicate what modifier they need.
Love this, thanks! It is really promising! Currently I have been handwriting on a paper keyboard image I printed off the Internet and a clipboard!
I believe you're referring to the name of the keyboard keys that show? With the new update you can override "interface/translations/HotkeyReminder_english.txt" file and customize the labels. :)
Can you tell me where the File is being saved? I have a Modlist and would love to add this, but i need to also upload the file with the keybinds i set so everybody else who downloads this sees the prompts ive set.

I made a small patch for 32x9 aspect ratio, so that the image fits nicely.

edit: Didn't notice the mod was updated. Updated the patch.

I had not tested with Auto Input Switch. I think I know what's causing that. This will be fixed in the next update.
Thank you very much for looking into it!

And thank you, it's very much appreciated :)
If you customized them from within MCM.
Are there any plans to support screen sizes such as UWQHD?
Please consider this.

Thank you for response.
