+1 on that. I think all they need is to A - use a AI to change voice pitch thus making it female. B import all voices to adobe audition and edit the pitch manually on each and every single audio.
Ha! Thanks. Uploading it on April first would have been too obvious. ; )
He has 8,000+ unique voice lines if you include Immersive Features and Extended Edition. But, the biggest reason is that Kaidan's voice actor, Dan Lemon, does not allow his voice to be altered via AI. If you do it, it has to be done for private use and not advertised publicly out of respect to him. Any questions regarding that can absolutely be forwarded to him and his Kaidan manager at kaidanmod.com.
I'm just in the process of creating a female voice for this. I used a free program called "Buzz" to convert all the voice files into text, and then I'm running each one through Elevenlabs to generate a new voice. Then, each of the new files has to be renamed to match the original filename. I've managed to do 50, out of the 1256, at the moment, so should be done in a month or so!!! Haha. I tried just altering the pitch on the original files at first, but it just sounded like Kaidan was on helium! lol. With all due respect to the original voice actor, the recordings aren't great, and have a slight distortion. This means that I'm also having to amend some of the text files which didn't interpret the audio correctly.
Please refer to the sticky post on what you can and cannot do with the voice files you are creating. Creating an entirely new voice without using the original audio files should be fine.
UPDATE: Well I completed this. It took around 16 hours of work over 3 or 4 days, but I was quite pleased with the result. Of course, AI cannot compete with real voice actors, as you lose a lot of the emotion and intonation. Would I ever do it again? Probably not! lol.I played through all the Kaidan quests, and it was great. However, once the quests were over, Kaidan seemed to lose a lot of functionality. She stopped force greeting, a lot of the idle lines kept repeating, and she was little more than a typical vanilla follower. Once she started wandering off on her own, I decided it was "time to part ways" permanently, and uninstalled her. A pity, because she really was lovely. Don't let this deter you though, as I have the same problem with Serana not following, and going off on her own, so I probably broke something.
I always like the idea of more custom female followers, but the Male voice is to cringey for my tastes. I will track in case you end up converting this to a female voice or if you add a download option for a basic female follower as I do like the look of this follower.
