I'm running into an issue: after running ParallaxGen the bottles become plain grey, like in this image.
I'm using Community Shaders (with all the modules, including Auto Parallax) not ENB, but the same thing happened with both versions and nothing is overwriting the mod in my assets pane.
Is there any way to fix this or am I doing something wrong?
My game has the same problem. And you were the one who made me realize that Parallax Gen is the culprit — thank you so much for that! And yes, there is a solution, and I'm going to share it with you. Double-click on the mod called "PGPatcher_Output" (or whatever name you gave to the ParallaxGen output). Go to the "Filetree" tab > Meshes > and find the folder named "TheMilkDrinker". Right-click on it and select "Hide". Close the window and launch the game to see if it worked. It worked perfectly for me!
This mod is awesome. unfortunately it doesnt really work with some interior mods, that add a lot of wine bottles to some cellars and such. For example with Snazzy interiors - Jk's Dragonsreach. Theres repeatable CTD when you enter the modified place in 3rd person. described in the mods bug section if you're searching for detail. Only wanted to mention it here, to make sure you (the mod author) and users downloading this are aware of this issue. You'll probably have to choose or encounter some repeatable ctd's. Anyway, best looking Winery-mod. Endorsed.
+1 hoping this can get fixed at some point. These are the best wine bottles on the Nexus but they cause crashes with various interior overhauls. I'm also noticing this with JKs Obscure college of winterhold combo when trying to enter one of the halls on the left. Disabling this mod fixes all of these crashes
As I said a few times, some mod and patches have custom mesh paths, if this mod was just a replacer it's possible some of my meshes wouldn't load, because a plugin is loading other meshes, so I made a plugin to make it easier to deal with such conflicts, also de esp is flagged esl, so no problems there.
The current mod will only replace a mesh/texture if the record name hasn't been changed. Some mod authors change record names when placing objects, for whatever reason. It's a bad modding practice, but it's not uncommon. Take this house mod for example. If you enter the house, you'll notice that all the bottles are using the vanilla meshes/textures. If you download my replacer version of this mod, it will replace the vanilla meshes/textures with the new ones since it's just a loose file overwrite. The replacer version will replace the meshes/textures in any mod, as long as they use vanilla paths.
You can't get the new bottles this way though, which is why I created the BOS file. The BOS file will distribute the new bottles across the vanilla game, and any mods that use vanilla records (like the plugin does right now). Since it's a BOS file, it doesn't run the risk of being overwritten by another mod. You can install it after the replacer mod and use both (I could have merged them into a single file by changing the file paths, but I made the BOS version first).
TLDR; loose file replacer/BOS distribution is more compatible than a plugin.
This is the smallest mod ever, but also one I CANNOT live without. I am starting a new mod list and this was the first mod I downloaded for item textures lol
Can I have your permission to port this mod to Bethesda.net? I can take care of the work with porting and updating as you update. I’ll be sure credit you for your work and add a link to this page. Lmk!
