For anyone using Palaces and Castles Enhanced, that changes Dragonsreach, a patch will be available soon so the weapons do not end up on the floor, then kicked across the room, making them hard to find.
I may have had the same thing happen to me on SE. I activated or enabled the mod in my load order, and returned to the main menu. It said my mods had changed, and reloaded back to the main menu. I selected Continue, went to Dragonsreach, and the knives were not there.
So I went back and checked my load order, and the mod was NOT enabled. Enabled it again thinking I forgot to do something (I don't normally play on SE), but this time I returned to the main menu and without starting the game rechecked my load order, and again the mod was not enabled.
If this is what happened to the original poster, I am contacting volodavkaa with some information that should make this work in the situation that I have.

I installed the mod with mod organizer and it didn't work. The knife does not appear
