I like it for the variation. The tile roof would be the poor mans version. Thatch roofs insulate a lot better and keep the inside warmer. Insulation is vital in the wintertime. Trust me, im nord norwegian.

Thats actually pretty interesting, I never thought about it that way, thanks for sharing.

The main idea with this mod is to add variety, though. The idea of thatch being the "poor mans roof" was just the spark that sent me down the road of adding tiled roofs for variety.

Guess I'll need to add extra hearths to the tiled roof houses now to compensate

I don't see the problem in that.
Anyway,  with BOS anyone can choose which one to enable, as for myself I only replaced 3 of the places given in your ini for example, since I didn't want to touch the ones modified by COTN or Redbag and their adds.
Anyway you gave the "teaching" on how to do, I will probably do myself if noone will do, just for the interiors, because I already have all farms exterior changed by this mod which I further modified to have different texture each area, just now I can add also different interiors textures, and for farmhouse04s I already did.

      Thanks.
Honestly, I actually like the vanilla thatch roof farmhouses. My idea was simply to add a small bit of variation. At this stage I'm considering giving the yarl long-houses the same treatment, but I'm not sure if I'll be doing all the farmhouses.

yeah I totally agree with you about the thatch, in fact I will mostly use the method for retexture some of the farms (which I already changed the exterior only) so they are consistent with the exterior (thanks to the ssedit script is very easy)

There is a Nordic Jarl that replaces them but I'm very interested to see your idea

I'm actually using the Nordic Jarl mod myself at the moment, and its great. Just thought I'd put my own spin on it.

No, the meshes are not "cut" like the ones from LUX. But, I use LUX myself and I have not yet noticed any abnormalities.

      Hi there.
I've just double checked it with my list and this is what it looks like on my end with the parallax mesh and Skyrim 202X textures: Screenshot
It looks like the height map might be incorrect on your end. What retexture are you using along with the parallax meshes?

I'm using meshes from Less Repetitive Farmhouse Woodwalls, which support Simplicity of Snow and parallax. and textures from Classic HD Remastered Farmhouses - Complex Parallax.

      Thanks for the reply.
What retexture are you using for your Riften architecture?
The houses in Ivarstead and Shor's Stone both use the RiftenRoofShingles01 texture for the roofs.

Riften retexture from Pfuscher's mods - AIO, probably same as 202X.

Unfortunately I'm unable to recreate the issue on my end.
One thing I have noticed is that Skyrim 202X does not include a height map for the RiftenRoofShingles.
It might be that another texture mod in your load order is adding a height map to the roof that does not match Pfuscher's textures.

Love this! My first thought is how well would this play with Seasons of Skyrim (including Simplicity of Seasons and/or Unfrozen), and if a compatibility patch might be necessary?

Unfortunately I do not use seasons myself so I'm not sure.
I'll try to find some time to test it to confirm compatibility. I believe many people would have the same question.
      Thanks for the inquiry.

You know, I think I actually saw another mod once that actually did exactly that.
I can't seem to find it now though. Maybe I just imagined it
