It is not needed, this mod is modifying Bow Rapid Combo to make adjustments. As black instructed at MHW bow's sticky comment. Basically, you need to wear "Hunter Proof amulet", to use MHW Bow, and un-equip it to use Smooth Rapid Bow Combo. Also both of them has Rapid Shots mechanic, try it both. So far, it's working for me at 1.6.640. Thanks TXD!
Edit after some testing: if you mean MHW Bow's Rapid Shot (3*Power Attack) then yes, I also have some issue, suddenly my character is frozen, the solution is to sheathe the weapon.

Could this possibly be the issue others are having with rapid bow not firing rapid shots?
