Because I want to start a new game with a clean inventory but I don't want to resintall this mod mid playthrough everytime I want to test something
It's a corner case for purist lol... it's useless for a vast majority of ppl, but useful for modlist creators, modders and everyone who like immersive big lists
Stupid question but does using the command add a menu that allows you to pull up the items or does it require searching via typing the item name? The good thing about the item tab in the inventory is that it cuts out the need to pull up the console constantly. Maybe I am just misunderstanding how this mod works.
The console command will add the book and then you can process as usual
What I do generally:
1 - I use the command 2 - I do what I have to do with the additemmenu mod (generally I need it for testing) 3 - I reload the game to not have the power in my magic spells (so I am not tempted to use it)
This mod is done for very particular cases, it's not necessary at all, but if you want to start a new game with a clear inventory and additemenu somewhere hidden... this is the mod
So the point of this mod is to remove the additem menu from inventory that is only in your inventory of you use the additem menu mod? Couldn't you just not install that mod in the first place if you don't want it? Or just don't use it? Am I missing something here?
Firstly, yes, it can be a requirement for other mods.
Secondly, it's still very useful for testing purposes. So, adding just the book via console command and then using the mod is a lot more convenient than adding items through the console only.
This way, you can have a clean save for your real playthrough without the AddItemMenu misc item directly in your inventory at level 1, and a save for testing purposes, where you allow the book to be added to your inventory via the command in the description.
Does it make more sense now? I can totally understand it's a little counter-intuitive 😅.
That's why there are so few downloads... it's really a niche use case

- Add in inventory this menu
- Activate it
- Add spell for this menu
- ???
- Profit
(if any another addons for it, then much more)
I don't know how you use it, but it's like a mandatory feature for me.
So I have dMenu and AddItemMenu in all my lists
