It isn't that they are incompatible. Dear Diary VR was missing baselargeitemcard.swf, and the one provided by moreHUD Inventory has a black background. This leads to situations where any item that needs the larger backdrop, having black text on a black background. Including baselargeitemcard.swf gives all the backdrops (large and small) the same paper look.
Also, My cat's name isn't that important to anyone but him and I. :P
I can honestly say that i was inspired to make this from the comment of a user, PhuLing, who suggested how the two mods could be made to work better togeather.
