I am open to criticism, but please be respectful and not rude when commenting. Also please post bug reports in the BUGS section as its easier for me to manage them there and mark them off as fixed. Thank you everyone for downloading and leaving kind comments, enjoy the mod :)

BEFORE LEAVING A COMMENT OR BUG REPORT

please, please, please read the description, especially the Requirements and Installation section as most issues users have reported would be solved if they had done this.

for example, if you cannot access the new areas, you need to disable border regions, further instructions in the description

I honestly thought there was something seriously wrong with my modlist/load order but the worst part is that when I installed this mod mid +100h playthrough and went to Baan Malur the framerate was solid! I started a new playthrough (for reasons unrelated to this mod) and when I get there again the framerate chugs down to 5 fps at times, it's nuts! After wandering around for a while it seems to taper down a bit, but it still fluctuates some. I heaved the heaviest sigh of relief when I came here and read comments of other people experiencing the same issue and that there's apparently some things that could be optimized better, so I got that to look forward to. This mod looks incredible thank you for your hard work, cheers!

I havent seen any comments so far about this, but my maps still arent working with the fix, without FWMF, with it, it just wont work, the map shows up but i cant look past anything outside of the solstiem borders, any reason you can think of?

make sure any fwmf plugins, or morrowind map fix, are loaded at the end of your load order

    Hi Pancake0723,
Thank you for this mod. while checking it out I noticed that you are using custom assets which look exactly the same as vanilla, and in some places you are using custom shaders as well which for some reason don't correctly show Ash textures on them.. Is it possible to refactor this mod to just use vanilla assets ? Also the outskirts of the town are quite empty even the terrain is completely plain and straight.. I think if you add burnt flora or add Ash or Sand dunes to the area to make it look more natural would increase the immersion in this mod way more... Thanks

Secondly , the Redoran Lights that you have added with custom radius is causing too much flickering indoors. The Pleasure house NPCs don't interact as well just standing there may be some packages are missing like merchant or dancers ?

Hello! If the assets look like vanilla models, then they are vanilla models, but you are right about the ash shaders, some of the objects use a custom material object which is a lighter coverage of ash, so as to not make the city AS grey as it could be

For anyone wondering why this city is called Baan Malur and not Blacklight, well that's because Baan Malur IS Blacklight!! Or rather the old Tamriel Rebuilt's Dunmer name for it. That's a nice touch and kind of an "if you know, you know" type of thing. Well now I've just told you if you didn't know. My one big complaint (or perhaps request?) is that there isn't a border gate of some kind to the north that lets you "walk" back into Skyrim. A gate in Skyrim passed Refugees Rest east of Windhelm that lets you walk into Morrowind would also be incredibly cool. Having these gates or even passage points that imply travel (similar to a dark cave entry rather than a door) instead of needing to fast travel or take a boat to Solstheim only to fast travel to the Morrowind mainland would be a lot cooler I think. I'd also probably move the "Skyrim" fast travel point near Solstheim relative to where Skyrim would be on the Morrowind mainland map too. Otherwise this mod is incredible.

I was thinking about the gate at the border too!
It would be cool, if we could walk from Windhelm, go past Refugees Rest and open the gate to Morrowind, which loads the Solstheim worldspace. And once we are on the other side of the gate, we should be able to walk to Baan Maalur.
I would love "walking" to Morrowind than using a boat or enter via a Dungeon.
I'm not sure if such a system is possible.

It's already been done for Shadow Of Morrowind in LE, a mod which had similar ambitions to this one but was never completed. You could walk through the border gates near either Windhelm or Riften and they'd take you to (different parts of) Morrowind - but although you had a huge swathe of Morrowind Worldspace including Vardenfell, complete with volcano-blasted forests and streaming magma, various map markers, Klee and Blacklight and a few other places, and it integrated well with Nyhus and the Border of Cyrodiil, there were no interiors, no quests, no NPCs, just some creatures and a handful of bandits.
Yeah, it would be nice, but as someone who's used both, trust me, this is better.

The LOD from Solstheim with SOM is nice, though...

I don't know how ESO or Arena implement this but Baan Malur in this mod has beauty, and exotic feeling like the Morrowind gave me.
And you made this as an exterior, without loading screen to outside of the city. This is really ambitious!

Yes, I see problems like LODs in Skyrim and stuttering in the city tho, I will try to solve these problems.
Thank you for making this, I hope community grows more to make the progress for this and related mods.

I have problem that while Baan Malur installed, the vanilla tree LOD in Skyrim (not in Morrowwind/Solsteim) will not work properly, the trees (pine tree manily) in a distance cannot be shown correctly, we could only see some 2D sketches.

Anyone has any issue with vanilla terrain/tree LOD in Skyrim like this ? Any comments will be welcome, thanks bros !

REQUEST: Could you create a BSA that includes all your meshes & scripts?, in case have problems with this mod,  Uninstalling it would be easier.

And where are this requested files: ccBGSSSE001-Fish.esm and ccBGSSSE001-Curious.esl ?

All of the meshes and textures are already in the BSAs. I tried this with scripts and sounds previously, but they wouldnt work in game. And the files you mentioned are the requirements, Fishing and Rare Curios, listed in the description
